General Schedule:
This position typically works 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday at UCO's main campus in Edmond, Oklahoma.
Position Overview:
The coordinator is responsible for the oversight and guidance of two of the fraternity and sorority community’s four governing councils and leads all fraternity and sorority–wide initiatives, educational programming, and community development efforts. This position works collaboratively with other team members to foster cross-council collaboration, strengthen community standards, and enhance the overall fraternity/sorority experience at Central. The coordinator provides training and development opportunities for student leaders and ensures members and advisors have access to information and resources that promote safety, responsible operations, and compliance with university policies. This role manages student activity–funded budgets and requires the ability to exercise judgment and make decisions of significance while utilizing discretion. It is imperative this position actively engages in program development reflective of the Student Engagement Values and advises student leaders through the Central Six tenets of Transformative Learning. The coordinator reports to the Director of Student Engagement and has been identified by Federal Law as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities.
Department Specific Essential Job Functions:
- Serves as the primary advisor for two of the four fraternity and sorority governing councils (Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, National Pan-Hellenic Council, and College Panhellenic Council), providing comprehensive guidance for council operations, governance, and leadership development, while collaborating with team members to ensure consistency across all councils.
- Leads and implements fraternity and sorority–wide initiatives and educational programming designed to promote leadership development, mitigate risk, enhance compliance, and drive values-based engagement (e.g., Greek Leadership Conference, FSL Leadership Retreat).
- Provides coaching and strategic support to chapters related to organizational health, officer transitions, membership development, and retention.
- Coordinate the community standards program, which is the fraternity/sorority annual assessment tool and provides opportunity for recognition and plan the annual Greek Leadership Awards.
- Assist with recruitment and intake processes for councils, including eligibility verification, roster management, intake documentation, education plan review.
- Serves as liaison to alumni advisors and inter/national organization representatives.
- Maintains and updates Fraternity and Sorority Life marketing materials, social media platforms, and website content.
- Manages student activity funded budgets - including preparing budget requests, reviewing expenditures, ensuring purchasing compliance, and execution of vendor contracts and payments.
- Supervises a student worker designated to assist the coordinator with job responsibilities.
- Supports the programs and initiatives of the Office of Student Engagement and the Division of Enrollment and Student Success.

Qualifications/Experience Required:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 2+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in one of the following: student affairs, leadership, student organizations, fraternity and sorority life. Combination of education and experience should provide knowledge of fundamental theories, principles, and practices in student development and higher education. Demonstrated ability to apply professional expertise to achieve departmental and institutional goals. Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred:
Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education, or a related student affairs field. Professional or graduate-level experience advising student organizations and/or fraternity and sorority life governing councils. Experience coordinating recruitment or intake processes, risk management education, and student leadership development initiatives, and event planning processes. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with students, alumni advisors, inter/national organization representatives, and campus partners. Knowledge of CAS Professional Standards for Higher Education and AFA’s Core Competencies for the Excellence in the Profession.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to think critically, assess complex situations, and exercise sound judgment in decision-making. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment. Knowledge of student development theory, risk management principles, and higher education policies and procedures. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Excel) and experience with recruitment platforms such as ICS or similar systems preferred. Ability to design and facilitate educational workshops and training sessions for diverse student audiences.
