Which healthcare companies sponsor visas in Oregon?
Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is the state's largest visa sponsor for healthcare roles, offering positions from nurses to physicians and researchers. Legacy Health, Providence Health & Services, and Kaiser Permanente Northwest also regularly sponsor H-1B and other work visas. Smaller regional hospitals in Eugene, Salem, and Bend increasingly sponsor international talent to address staffing shortages.
Which cities in Oregon have the most healthcare sponsorship jobs?
Portland dominates Oregon's healthcare visa sponsorship market, home to OHSU, Legacy Health, and multiple Providence facilities. Eugene follows with PeaceHealth and University of Oregon health programs. Salem offers opportunities through Salem Health, while Bend's growing healthcare sector at St. Charles Health System provides emerging sponsorship options for international professionals.
How to find healthcare visa sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate specializes in healthcare visa sponsorship opportunities across Oregon, with filters for specific roles, visa types, and cities. Focus on major Portland medical centers first, then explore Eugene and Salem markets. Many Oregon healthcare employers sponsor H-1B visas for specialized roles like physical therapists, pharmacists, and registered nurses with advanced certifications.
Which visa types are most common for healthcare roles in Oregon?
H-1B visas dominate Oregon healthcare sponsorship, especially for pharmacists, physical therapists, and specialized nursing roles. O-1 visas serve distinguished physicians and researchers at OHSU. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican healthcare professionals, while EB-2 and EB-3 green card sponsorship is common for long-term positions at major hospital systems.
What should I know about Oregon's healthcare job market for visa sponsorship?
Oregon faces significant healthcare worker shortages, particularly in rural areas, creating favorable conditions for visa sponsorship. The state has no sales tax, which affects take-home pay calculations. OHSU's research focus creates unique opportunities for international medical researchers and specialists. Rural health facilities often offer expedited sponsorship processes to attract talent.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored healthcare jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
