Which agriculture companies sponsor visas in Texas?
Major agriculture employers sponsoring visas in Texas include Tyson Foods for poultry processing positions, Cargill for grain operations and food manufacturing, JBS for beef processing roles, and Pilgrim's Pride for chicken processing. Smaller operations like King Ranch, South Tex Organics, and various cotton cooperatives also sponsor H-2A visa seasonal workers and H-1B visa professionals for agricultural engineering and management positions.
How to find agriculture visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate specializes in connecting international workers with Texas agriculture employers who sponsor visas. Focus your search on major agricultural regions: the Rio Grande Valley for citrus and vegetable operations, the Panhandle for cattle ranches and grain facilities, and East Texas for poultry processing plants. Target food processing companies, agricultural cooperatives, and large farming operations that regularly hire international talent.
Which visa types are most common for agriculture roles in Texas?
H-2A visas dominate seasonal agriculture work in Texas, particularly for cotton harvesting, citrus picking, and cattle ranch operations. H-1B visas are common for specialized roles like agricultural engineers, food scientists, and farm managers with technical degrees. TN visas work for Canadian and Mexican agricultural professionals, while O-1 visas apply to researchers at institutions like Texas A&M's agricultural programs.
Which cities in Texas have the most agriculture sponsorship jobs?

What are Texas-specific considerations for agriculture visa sponsorship?
Texas agricultural employers must navigate state prevailing wage requirements that vary significantly between regions, border counties often have lower wage standards than metropolitan areas. The state's proximity to Mexico creates strong TN visa opportunities for Mexican agricultural professionals. Texas A&M University's agricultural programs provide a pipeline of international graduates eligible for OPT and H-1B sponsorship with established agribusiness connections.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored agriculture jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
