Which agriculture companies sponsor Green Card visas in Texas?
Large food processing and agribusiness companies with significant Texas operations are among the most active Green Card sponsors in the agriculture sector. Employers like Cargill, Tyson Foods, JBS USA, and Sysco have sponsored workers through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. Sponsorship is more common at the corporate and technical level, though some production and processing facilities also sponsor eligible workers through PERM labor certification.
Which cities in Texas have the most agriculture Green Card sponsorship jobs?
The Rio Grande Valley, including McAllen and Edinburg, is a major hub for crop production and agricultural labor, while Amarillo and Lubbock in the Panhandle concentrate food processing and cattle industry roles. San Antonio and Houston attract agribusiness corporate functions, supply chain management, and food science positions. Dallas-Fort Worth also hosts regional headquarters for several large food and agriculture companies that sponsor Green Card candidates.
What types of agriculture roles typically qualify for Green Card sponsorship in Texas?
Roles requiring specialized education or skills are the most common candidates for Green Card sponsorship. These include agricultural engineers, food scientists, agronomists, veterinarians, and supply chain or operations managers within large agribusiness firms. EB-3 sponsorship can also cover skilled production and processing workers. General farmworker roles are less commonly sponsored through permanent residency pathways, though seasonal agricultural programs exist separately.
How do I find agriculture Green Card sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate lists agriculture jobs in Texas that include Green Card visa sponsorship, letting you filter by visa type and industry so you are not manually sorting through postings that offer no sponsorship at all. Because Texas agriculture spans food processing, crop science, and agribusiness operations, the platform helps you identify which employers are actively hiring sponsored roles across regions like the Panhandle, the Rio Grande Valley, and Central Texas.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for Green Card sponsorship in agriculture?
Texas agriculture is heavily tied to industries with high seasonal and regional variation, which can affect how employers structure long-term hiring and sponsorship commitments. The PERM labor certification process requires employers to demonstrate no qualified U.S. worker is available, a standard that applies uniformly but can be harder to meet in regions with strong local labor supply. Working with an immigration attorney familiar with Texas agricultural employers is advisable before beginning the process.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card agriculture jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
