Which insurance companies in Utah sponsor work visas?
SelectHealth, EMI Health, and Regence BlueCross BlueShield are among Utah's largest insurance employers that sponsor visas. Smaller insurtech companies like MX Technologies and Pattern also sponsor H-1B visa and other work visas, particularly for data science, actuarial, and software development roles within insurance technology platforms.
What visa types are most common for insurance jobs in Utah?
H-1B visas dominate insurance sponsorship in Utah, especially for actuarial analysts, underwriters, and data scientists. O-1 visas are occasionally used for senior actuaries with exceptional expertise. TN visas serve Canadian and Mexican professionals in actuarial science, while E-3 visas work for Australian citizens in specialized insurance roles.
How to find insurance visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Use Migrate Mate to search specifically for insurance visa sponsorship positions in Utah. The platform filters by companies with proven sponsorship history in Utah's insurance market, including both traditional insurers like SelectHealth and emerging insurtech firms in Salt Lake City's growing financial technology sector.
Which Utah cities have the most insurance visa sponsorship opportunities?
Salt Lake City dominates Utah's insurance job market, housing headquarters for SelectHealth, EMI Health, and numerous regional carriers. Murray and West Valley City also offer opportunities through smaller insurance firms and regional offices. Provo has emerging insurtech positions, particularly at companies connected to the area's technology ecosystem.
Are there specific requirements for insurance visa sponsorship in Utah?
Utah insurance employers typically require actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or finance degrees for sponsored roles. Professional certifications like ASA or FCAS significantly strengthen applications. Utah's prevailing wage requirements align with national standards, though Salt Lake City rates may be lower than coastal markets while remaining competitive regionally.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored insurance jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
