Which electronics companies in Wisconsin sponsor E-3 visas?
Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee is one of the state's most active sponsors for electronics and controls engineering roles. Johnson Controls, also headquartered in Milwaukee, regularly hires for embedded systems and hardware positions. Plexus Corp in Neenah and Astronics in the Fox Valley area have also filed Labor Condition Applications for electronics engineers. Sponsorship activity varies by hiring cycle, so checking current LCA filings gives the most accurate picture.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most electronics E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, driven by its concentration of industrial automation and controls manufacturers. Madison offers opportunities tied to its technology sector and proximity to the University of Wisconsin research community. The Fox Valley corridor, including Neenah, Appleton, and Green Bay, has a strong electronics manufacturing presence. Waukesha and Racine counties also have notable hardware and embedded systems employers within commuting range of Milwaukee.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles that typically qualify are those requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field, such as electrical engineering, electronics engineering, or computer engineering. Common qualifying titles include hardware design engineer, embedded systems engineer, PCB design engineer, controls engineer, and RF engineer. Purely technician-level roles that don't require a specialty degree are generally less likely to meet the E-3 specialty occupation standard that USCIS applies.
How do I find electronics E-3 sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, so you can search for electronics roles in Wisconsin where employers have a verified E-3 sponsorship history based on DOL Labor Condition Application data. This removes the guesswork of approaching employers who have never sponsored an E-3. Narrowing by city, role type, and employer LCA filing history through Migrate Mate gives Australian engineers a much more targeted starting point than general job searches.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for electronics E-3 sponsorship?
Wisconsin's electronics sector leans heavily toward industrial and manufacturing applications rather than consumer electronics, so roles often sit within automation, controls, and defense supply chains. Employers in smaller Fox Valley cities may have less familiarity with the E-3 process than large Milwaukee-headquartered multinationals, which can affect how quickly an LCA is filed. Australian engineers should confirm early in the hiring process that the employer is prepared to support the LCA filing with the DOL before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 electronics jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
