Which accounting companies sponsor E-3 visas in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's strongest E-3 accounting sponsors are the Big Four firms, Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, and EY, which maintain offices in Milwaukee and Madison. Regional firms such as Baker Tilly, Wipfli, and CliftonLarsonAllen also have Wisconsin practices with documented sponsorship history. Large healthcare networks, insurance companies, and manufacturing corporations headquartered in the state also sponsor accounting professionals through E-3 filings for qualified specialty occupation roles.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary market for accounting E-3 roles, driven by its concentration of professional services firms, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters. Madison follows closely, supported by state government-adjacent finance functions, technology companies, and the University of Wisconsin system's administrative needs. Green Bay and Appleton offer additional opportunities, particularly within manufacturing, insurance, and regional accounting firms serving the Fox Valley corridor.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify for E-3 sponsorship include external audit associate, tax consultant, financial analyst, management accountant, internal auditor, and forensic accountant. Each position must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a directly related field. General bookkeeping or data-entry positions that do not require a specific degree typically do not qualify. The O*NET classification for the specific role is often referenced during the Labor Condition Application process.
How do I find accounting E-3 sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for accounting roles where Wisconsin employers have active E-3 Labor Condition Application filing history, so you can focus on companies already familiar with the sponsorship process. Searching by accounting occupation codes and filtering to Wisconsin surfaces audit, tax, and financial analysis positions at firms ranging from Big Four offices in Milwaukee to regional practices in Madison. This avoids applying to employers who have never sponsored an E-3 and may be unfamiliar with the requirements.
Are there any state-specific considerations for accounting E-3 sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin does not impose additional state-level licensing requirements that affect E-3 eligibility itself, but CPA licensure through the Wisconsin Examining Board of Accountants is typically required for roles that involve signing audit reports or representing clients before regulators. Australian candidates holding CPA Australia credentials may need to complete additional education or examination requirements to obtain a Wisconsin CPA license. Employers filing the Labor Condition Application must certify the offered position meets DOL prevailing wage standards for the relevant Wisconsin metropolitan area.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 accounting jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
