Which retail companies in Wisconsin sponsor E-3 visas?
Kohl's, headquartered in Menomonee Falls, is Wisconsin's most prominent retail employer with the HR infrastructure commonly associated with visa sponsorship. Larger national chains operating stores and regional offices in Milwaukee and Madison, such as Target and Macy's, have also filed E-3 visa and H-1B visa Labor Condition Applications historically. Sponsorship is more common in corporate, buying, and management roles than in general store positions.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most retail E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, home to Kohl's corporate headquarters and a concentration of regional retail offices. Madison follows closely, supported by a large university population that drives consumer demand and retail expansion. The Fox Cities corridor, including Appleton and Green Bay, also hosts distribution and regional management roles tied to national retail chains operating across the state.
What types of retail roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Wisconsin?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In retail, positions that commonly meet this standard include merchandise planning analysts, retail buyers, e-commerce managers, visual merchandising directors, and supply chain or inventory management roles. General sales associate or floor supervisor positions rarely qualify because they don't typically require a specific degree.
How do I find retail E-3 sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is the most direct resource, as it filters job listings specifically by visa type and state, letting you browse retail E-3 sponsorship opportunities in Wisconsin without sorting through roles that won't support your visa. Beyond the job board, targeting Wisconsin-based retailers with established corporate functions, particularly those with headquarters or regional offices in Milwaukee and Madison, improves your chances of finding employers already familiar with E-3 sponsorship requirements.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for retail E-3 sponsorship?
Wisconsin's retail sector is heavily influenced by Kohl's corporate presence, which shapes the local market for professional retail roles. The state has a relatively modest international hiring footprint compared to coastal markets, so E-3 applicants may find fewer employers actively recruiting internationally. Roles tied to Kohl's corporate functions or Madison's growing retail tech and e-commerce operations tend to be the most viable entry points for E-3 sponsorship in this state.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 retail jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
