Search Healthcare Jobs in WisconsinHealthcare STEM OPT Sponsorship Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
Which healthcare companies sponsor F-1 STEM OPT visas in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's largest health systems, UW Health in Madison, Froedtert Health and Advocate Aurora Health in Milwaukee, and Bellin Health in Green Bay, have consistent hiring patterns for STEM-adjacent healthcare roles. Smaller regional hospital networks and health technology firms based in the state also participate in STEM OPT training programs, particularly for roles in clinical informatics, data analytics, and health IT. Sponsorship availability varies by role and department, so confirming employer eligibility before applying is important.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most healthcare F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs?
Madison and Milwaukee account for the highest concentration of healthcare F-1 STEM OPT opportunities in Wisconsin. Madison benefits from proximity to the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW Health, which drives demand for health informatics and research-oriented roles. Milwaukee is home to Froedtert and Advocate Aurora Health, both large systems with active data and technology divisions. Green Bay and Appleton offer secondary markets, particularly in regional hospital administration and health IT support roles.
How do I find healthcare F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for healthcare roles in Wisconsin that are open to F-1 STEM OPT candidates, using verified employer sponsorship data rather than unverified job postings. This helps you avoid applying to employers who have no history of STEM OPT training agreements. Focus your search on job titles that fall under STEM-classified programs, health informatics, biostatistics, clinical data analysis, and health IT positions in Wisconsin appear regularly on the platform.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles that qualify for STEM OPT in healthcare are those tied to STEM-designated degree programs, typically including health informatics analyst, clinical data scientist, biostatistician, bioinformatics specialist, and healthcare software developer positions. Purely clinical roles such as registered nurse or physician assistant generally do not qualify because the underlying degree programs are not STEM-designated under the DHS STEM degree list. Eligibility is tied to your degree's Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code, not the job title alone.
Are there state-specific considerations for F-1 STEM OPT sponsorship in healthcare roles in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin employers sponsoring F-1 STEM OPT workers must be enrolled in E-Verify, a federal requirement for all STEM OPT training plan agreements. Wisconsin has no additional state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal USCIS and DOL obligations. However, certain licensed healthcare professions in Wisconsin require state board approval regardless of immigration status, so verifying licensure eligibility through the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services before accepting an offer is advisable for roles that require a state-issued credential.
