Which fintech companies sponsor visas in Wisconsin?
Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee frequently sponsors H-1B visas for software engineers and data scientists. Fiserv, headquartered in Brookfield, regularly hires international talent for payment technology and financial software roles. Johnson Financial Group and Associated Bank also sponsor visas for specialized technology positions, particularly for candidates with expertise in digital banking and financial analytics.
How to find fintech visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters Wisconsin fintech positions by companies with proven sponsorship history, showing current openings at Northwestern Mutual, Fiserv, and other local employers. Focus on Milwaukee's financial district and Madison's tech corridor, where most fintech companies concentrate their operations. Many positions require specialized skills in payment processing, regulatory compliance technology, or financial data analysis.
Which visa types are most common for fintech roles in Wisconsin?
H-1B visas dominate Wisconsin fintech sponsorship, particularly for software engineers, data scientists, and financial analysts. L-1 visas are common at larger companies like Northwestern Mutual when transferring employees from international offices. O-1 visas occasionally appear for senior fintech executives or specialists with extraordinary expertise in payments technology or regulatory compliance systems.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most fintech sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee leads with established financial services companies like Northwestern Mutual and Johnson Financial Group offering the majority of sponsored positions. Madison follows with technology-focused fintech startups and University of Wisconsin spin-offs. Brookfield hosts Fiserv's headquarters, creating additional sponsorship opportunities. Green Bay and Appleton have smaller fintech presences but occasionally offer sponsored roles.
What makes Wisconsin fintech sponsorship different from other states?
Wisconsin's prevailing wages for fintech roles are generally lower than coastal markets, potentially making sponsorship more accessible for mid-sized companies. The state's strong insurance and banking heritage creates demand for regulatory technology specialists. University partnerships with UW-Madison provide a pipeline of international graduates already familiar with Wisconsin's business environment and eligible for STEM OPT extensions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored fintech jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
