Which consulting companies sponsor H-1B visas in Wisconsin?
The largest H-1B sponsors in Wisconsin's consulting sector include global firms like Deloitte, Accenture, and Cognizant, which maintain significant practices in Milwaukee and Madison. Mid-size IT consulting firms and management consultancies serving Wisconsin's healthcare and financial services industries also file H-1B petitions regularly. Sponsorship frequency varies by firm size, project pipeline, and hiring volume in a given year.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee accounts for the largest share of consulting H-1B sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and healthcare clients that retain large consulting firms. Madison is the second-strongest market, with consulting demand tied to state government, the University of Wisconsin system, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Appleton see more limited but present consulting sponsorship opportunities.
What types of consulting roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that consistently qualify include management consultant, IT consultant, strategy analyst, business analyst, implementation consultant, and data analytics consultant, provided the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. The H-1B specialty occupation standard means the job must normally require a degree in a directly related discipline. General advisory roles where any degree would suffice are less likely to qualify.
How do I find consulting H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters consulting roles in Wisconsin that include H-1B visa sponsorship, so you're not sifting through listings from employers who won't sponsor. Search by state and industry to surface firms actively hiring consultants in Milwaukee, Madison, and across Wisconsin. Reviewing which employers have filed H-1B petitions in prior years is also a reliable signal of sponsorship willingness.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for H-1B consulting sponsorship?
Wisconsin does not impose state-level restrictions on H-1B employment, but consulting roles here often involve client-site work across multiple locations, which requires the employer to file an amended H-1B or maintain compliant Labor Condition Application coverage for each worksite. Consultants placed at third-party client sites in Wisconsin must ensure their employer's LCA reflects those locations. This is a detail worth confirming with your employer before accepting a project assignment.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B consulting jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
