Which consumer goods companies in Wisconsin sponsor H-1B visas?
Several well-established consumer goods employers in Wisconsin have a history of H-1B visa sponsorship. SC Johnson, headquartered in Racine, regularly sponsors international talent in R&D and engineering. Energizer Holdings has Wisconsin operations, and Kohl's, while primarily retail, sponsors roles in product and supply chain functions. Smaller regional manufacturers in the food and household products space also file H-1B petitions, particularly for technical and analytical positions.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most consumer goods H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for consumer goods H-1B sponsorship, given its concentration of manufacturing headquarters and regional offices. Racine, home to SC Johnson's global headquarters, is another significant location. Madison sees demand in product development and data-driven roles tied to the consumer sector. Green Bay and Kenosha have smaller but active manufacturing presences that periodically sponsor H-1B workers in technical roles.
What types of consumer goods roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin?
H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin's consumer goods industry most commonly applies to roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. These include chemical engineers and product formulators at manufacturers like SC Johnson, data scientists and demand planning analysts, supply chain engineers, and quality assurance specialists. Roles that require generalist skills without a defined degree requirement are less likely to meet the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I find consumer goods H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters consumer goods H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin by visa type, so you're not sorting through roles that won't sponsor. You can browse verified listings from Wisconsin-based employers across manufacturing, product development, and supply chain functions. Using a platform focused on sponsorship-eligible roles saves significant time compared to general job searches where H-1B willingness is rarely stated upfront.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in consumer goods?
Wisconsin's consumer goods sector is manufacturing-heavy, which means H-1B filings often involve the Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations for specialized engineering and technical roles in that region. Wisconsin does not have state-level immigration programs, so sponsorship depends entirely on individual employer willingness and the federal H-1B process. Employers in smaller Wisconsin cities may file fewer petitions annually, so it's worth researching each company's specific H-1B filing history before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B consumer goods jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
