Which transportation companies in Wisconsin sponsor H-1B visas?
Schneider National, one of the largest trucking and logistics companies in the U.S., is headquartered in Green Bay and has a documented history of H-1B filings. Other Wisconsin-based freight, rail, and supply chain firms with operations in Milwaukee and Madison have also submitted H-1B petitions, particularly for roles in engineering, data analytics, and transportation systems management. DOL LCA disclosure data is publicly searchable to verify specific employer filings.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most transportation H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's largest metro and the primary hub for transportation and logistics H-1B roles, given its concentration of supply chain firms, rail infrastructure, and distribution centers. Green Bay follows closely, anchored by Schneider National's headquarters. Madison sees H-1B activity in transportation technology and planning roles connected to state government contractors and university-affiliated research programs.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin?
H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin's transportation sector most commonly applies to roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Qualifying positions include transportation engineers, logistics analysts, supply chain systems specialists, operations research analysts, and transportation technology developers. General driving, dispatch, or warehouse roles do not meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B classification.
How do I find transportation H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking H-1B sponsorship and filters jobs by visa type, industry, and state. Searching transportation roles in Wisconsin on Migrate Mate surfaces positions from employers with verified H-1B filing histories, saving you from applying to companies that don't sponsor. It's a more targeted starting point than general job searches that don't filter by sponsorship history.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in transportation?
Wisconsin's transportation sector is heavily tied to freight, logistics, and supply chain infrastructure rather than passenger transit or aviation, which shapes the types of H-1B roles available. Employers filing H-1B petitions must meet the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements for the specific Wisconsin county where work is performed, since wages are benchmarked to local labor market conditions. Roles tied to federally funded transportation projects may also involve additional compliance requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B transportation jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
