Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor H-1B visas for artificial intelligence roles?
Wisconsin employers with documented H-1B visa LCA filing history for AI-related roles include Epic Systems in Verona, Northwestern Mutual in Milwaukee, American Family Insurance, and Exact Sciences. University of Wisconsin-affiliated research centers and mid-size software firms in the Madison area have also filed for machine learning engineers, data scientists, and AI research positions. Sponsorship patterns vary by company size and hiring cycle, so checking DOL LCA disclosure data directly is the most reliable approach.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most artificial intelligence H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Madison accounts for the largest share of AI H-1B sponsorship activity in Wisconsin, driven by Epic Systems, UW-Madison spin-offs, and the broader tech corridor along the US-14 corridor in Verona. Milwaukee follows with activity from financial services firms like Northwestern Mutual and Baird, which hire AI and data science professionals. Smaller clusters exist in Green Bay and the Fox Valley, primarily tied to manufacturing automation and supply chain AI applications.
What types of artificial intelligence roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles that commonly qualify include machine learning engineer, data scientist, AI research scientist, natural language processing engineer, computer vision engineer, and AI infrastructure engineer. USCIS requires that H-1B positions meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning the role must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as computer science, statistics, or electrical engineering. Generalist titles without a degree requirement in a specific discipline are less likely to qualify.
How do I find artificial intelligence H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters AI job listings by verified H-1B LCA filing history, so you can see which Wisconsin employers have actually sponsored the visa for artificial intelligence roles rather than relying on unverified sponsorship claims. You can narrow results by city, role type, and employer to focus on Madison or Milwaukee AI opportunities. Cross-referencing Migrate Mate listings with DOL OFLC disclosure data gives you a complete picture of an employer's sponsorship track record before you apply.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in artificial intelligence?
Wisconsin does not impose state-level visa filing requirements, but employers must comply with federal prevailing wage rules set by DOL for the specific occupation and geographic area. AI roles in Madison and Milwaukee are classified under different wage tiers because cost-of-labor benchmarks differ between the two metros. Employers in Wisconsin's healthcare technology sector, such as those connected to Epic's ecosystem, may also have internal compliance review processes that extend pre-offer timelines. Using the OFLC Wage Search and O*NET occupation profiles helps candidates benchmark expected compensation by location.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B artificial intelligence jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
