Which electronics companies sponsor H-1B visas in Wisconsin?
Several Wisconsin-based employers have consistent H-1B filing histories in electronics and hardware. Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee sponsors engineers across control systems and embedded software. Johnson Controls files H-1B petitions for hardware and electrical engineering roles. Plexus Corp in Neenah hires international talent for electronics manufacturing and design. Generac Power Systems and Regal Rexnord are additional manufacturers with documented sponsorship activity.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub, home to Rockwell Automation, Johnson Controls, and a broad manufacturing base with established H-1B sponsorship programs. Madison supports electronics roles tied to the University of Wisconsin research ecosystem and growing tech employers. Neenah and Appleton in the Fox Valley region are notable for contract electronics manufacturers like Plexus Corp. Green Bay has a smaller but active industrial electronics presence.
What types of electronics roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin?
Roles that consistently qualify include electrical engineers, hardware design engineers, embedded systems engineers, PCB designers, and power electronics engineers. Quality and reliability engineering positions tied to semiconductor or industrial hardware also qualify when they require a specialized bachelor's degree or higher. General technician or assembly roles typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B approval.
How do I find electronics H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by state, visa type, and industry to surface electronics roles in Wisconsin where employers have active H-1B sponsorship programs. This saves time compared to manually screening job listings with no sponsorship information. Migrate Mate aggregates positions from Wisconsin-based manufacturers and engineering firms and displays them alongside relevant visa and salary data.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for electronics H-1B sponsorship?
Wisconsin's electronics hiring is concentrated in industrial and defense-adjacent manufacturing, which means employers tend to be established mid-to-large manufacturers rather than early-stage startups. These companies generally have in-house HR teams or retained immigration counsel, making formal H-1B sponsorship more common. The state does not impose additional requirements beyond federal H-1B rules, but prevailing wage compliance is particularly relevant given Wisconsin's active Department of Labor audit environment.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B electronics jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
