Which staffing companies in Wisconsin sponsor H-1B visas?
ManpowerGroup, headquartered in Milwaukee, is one of the most active H-1B sponsors in Wisconsin's staffing sector. Experis, Manpower's professional staffing division, regularly files H-1B petitions for technology and engineering placements. Other firms with Wisconsin operations and documented H-1B sponsorship history include Staffmark, Acara Solutions, and Genesis10. Sponsorship activity varies by office and the specific client engagement, so confirming directly with each firm is advisable.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee has the highest concentration of staffing H-1B jobs in Wisconsin, driven by its large corporate headquarters, financial services firms, and manufacturing clients. Madison follows closely, supported by the University of Wisconsin ecosystem, state government contractors, and a growing tech sector. The Fox Valley region, particularly Appleton and Green Bay, also generates H-1B staffing demand through its strong manufacturing and healthcare industries.
What types of staffing roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin?
H-1B eligibility requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In Wisconsin's staffing sector, roles commonly meeting this threshold include software engineers, IT project managers, data analysts, quality engineers, and financial analysts placed on contract with end-client companies. General administrative or generalist staffing roles that do not require a specific degree field typically do not qualify.
How do I find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for international job seekers and filters job listings by visa sponsorship type, including H-1B, and by industry. To find staffing H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin, search Migrate Mate using the staffing and recruiting category and filter by Wisconsin. This removes the guesswork of identifying which postings are open to sponsored candidates, which is particularly useful in the staffing sector where sponsorship willingness varies widely by firm and role.
Are there Wisconsin-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship through a staffing firm?
One important consideration is the third-party placement rule. When a staffing agency places an H-1B worker at a client site, USCIS scrutinizes whether the end client, not the staffing firm, controls the day-to-day work. Wisconsin staffing sponsors must demonstrate a valid employer-employee relationship and provide an itinerary or work order. Additionally, the Labor Condition Application must reflect the prevailing wage for the actual worksite location in Wisconsin, not the staffing agency's office address.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B staffing jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
