Which fashion and apparel companies sponsor H-1B visas in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's fashion and apparel H-1B visa sponsors include sportswear manufacturers, specialty retailers, and textile production companies concentrated in Milwaukee and the Fox Valley area. Employers with established international hiring programs, particularly those operating design studios or technical product development teams, are the most consistent sponsors. Checking DOL Labor Condition Application disclosure data by Wisconsin employer gives you a verifiable picture of which companies have active sponsorship histories.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most fashion and apparel H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary hub for fashion and apparel H-1B activity, with its concentration of retail headquarters, distribution operations, and creative studios. Madison supports a smaller but growing apparel market tied to its university community and sustainable fashion brands. The Fox Valley region, historically strong in paper and textiles, also generates H-1B filings from specialty apparel manufacturers. Roles in product development and technical design appear across all three areas.
What types of fashion and apparel roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship in fashion and apparel generally applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Qualifying positions commonly include fashion designer, textile engineer, technical designer, merchandising analyst, and product development manager. Roles where a specific degree discipline is a standard industry requirement, rather than a general preference, are the clearest fit under USCIS specialty occupation standards. Production and general retail associate positions typically do not qualify.
How do I find fashion and apparel H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate surfaces fashion and apparel H-1B sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin by pulling from DOL Labor Condition Application filing data, so every employer listed has a documented H-1B sponsorship history. You can filter directly by industry, visa type, and state to focus on Wisconsin apparel roles. This approach saves time compared to manually reviewing OFLC disclosure files and helps you identify which specific Wisconsin employers are actively sponsoring H-1B petitions in your field.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in Wisconsin's fashion sector?
Wisconsin does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements, so H-1B filings follow standard federal DOL and USCIS procedures regardless of where in the state the job is located. Within the apparel industry specifically, employers must file a certified Labor Condition Application establishing that the offered role meets prevailing wage standards for that occupation and geographic area, Wisconsin's wage levels differ from major coastal markets, which affects the prevailing wage calculation. Roles tied to a specific Wisconsin work site must reflect local wage data.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B fashion & apparel jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
