Search Accounting Jobs in WisconsinAccounting TN Sponsorship Jobs in Wisconsin: Frequently Asked Questions
Which accounting companies sponsor TN visas in Wisconsin?
Regional and national public accounting firms with Wisconsin offices, including Wipfli, Baker Tilly, CliftonLarsonAllen, and Plante Moran, are among the more active employers of TN visa holders in accounting roles. Large healthcare networks like Froedtert Health and UW Health, along with manufacturing corporations headquartered in the state, also hire accounting professionals under TN status. Sponsorship availability varies by firm and hiring cycle.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most accounting TN sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary hub for accounting TN sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin, given its concentration of public accounting firms, financial institutions, and corporate headquarters. Madison follows closely, driven by state government contractors, university-adjacent businesses, and a growing professional services sector. Green Bay and Waukesha also have active hiring, particularly within manufacturing and healthcare organizations that maintain in-house accounting teams.
What types of accounting roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship?
Roles that qualify under the TN accountant category generally require a baccalaureate or licenciatura degree in accounting or a directly related field. Common qualifying titles include staff accountant, senior accountant, financial analyst, internal auditor, and tax analyst. Bookkeeping or paraprofessional accounting positions that do not require a qualifying degree typically do not meet TN requirements. The role must involve professional-level accounting duties consistent with the degree requirement.
How do I find accounting TN sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for TN and other work visa holders, letting you filter by visa type, state, and industry to surface accounting roles in Wisconsin where employers are open to TN sponsorship. This removes the guesswork of identifying which employers are willing to sponsor, which is the most time-consuming part of the job search for TN applicants. Searching through Migrate Mate for Wisconsin accounting roles is a practical starting point.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for accounting TN sponsorship?
Wisconsin does not require a state CPA license to obtain TN status, but many employers prefer or require CPA licensure for senior-level accounting roles. The Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services governs CPA licensing, and Canadian applicants with CPA Canada credentials may need to meet Wisconsin's reciprocity requirements before practicing as a licensed CPA. For TN purposes, what matters is the qualifying degree and job duties, not state licensure.
