Which insurance companies in Wisconsin are known to sponsor TN visas?
Northwestern Mutual, American Family Insurance, and Sentry Insurance are among Wisconsin's largest insurance employers and have hired internationally for specialized roles. These companies regularly fill actuarial, financial analysis, and risk management positions that align with TN-eligible occupations. That said, TN sponsorship availability varies by role, team, and hiring cycle, so confirming sponsorship willingness directly with each employer is always necessary.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most insurance TN sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is Wisconsin's primary insurance hub, home to Northwestern Mutual's headquarters and a concentration of regional carriers and brokers. Madison follows as a secondary market, with a strong presence of government-adjacent insurance bodies and mid-size carriers. Green Bay also offers opportunities, particularly through Humana and regional specialty insurers. Most TN-eligible insurance roles in the state are concentrated within these three metro areas.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for TN sponsorship in Wisconsin?
TN visa eligibility in the insurance industry generally applies to roles requiring a specific bachelor's degree or higher. Actuaries, economists, financial analysts, accountants, and computer systems analysts working within insurance operations commonly qualify. General insurance agent or claims adjuster roles, which often do not require a qualifying degree in a specific field, are less likely to meet TN specialty occupation standards. The role-to-degree connection is the key factor USCIS and CBP assess.
How do I find insurance TN sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by TN visa type, the insurance industry, and Wisconsin to see verified sponsorship-friendly job listings in one place. This saves significant time compared to sifting through general job boards where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront. Migrate Mate also provides visa-specific guidance to help Canadian and Mexican professionals evaluate which roles align with TN eligibility requirements.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific considerations for TN sponsorship in insurance?
Wisconsin's insurance industry is regulated by the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance, and some roles may carry state licensing requirements independent of your TN visa status. Canadian and Mexican professionals should confirm whether a role requires a Wisconsin insurance producer license, as obtaining state licensure while on TN status involves additional steps. The TN visa itself does not restrict professional licensing, but employers may factor licensing timelines into their hiring decisions.
