VP Finance Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a vp finance in Missouri?
Most vp finance roles in Missouri require a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting, with a CPA credential being the most commonly requested qualification by Missouri employers. Missouri CPA licensure is administered through the Missouri State Board of Accountancy, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination and meeting experience requirements. Candidates typically progress through senior financial analyst or controller roles before advancing to vice-president-level positions at Missouri companies.
Which companies hire vp finances in Missouri?
Employers hiring vp finances in Missouri right now include Abricare, Bass Pro Shops, and Tacony Corporation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's concentration of large healthcare systems, regional banks, and Fortune 500 headquarters in the Kansas City and St. Louis corridors means openings appear consistently throughout the year.
Which Missouri cities have the most vp finance jobs?
Kansas City, Fenton, and Springfield account for the largest share of vp finance openings in Missouri. Kansas City dominates due to its deep base of financial services firms, insurance companies, and corporate headquarters, while St. Louis draws demand from healthcare networks, manufacturing conglomerates, and major publicly traded companies that maintain executive finance functions in the region.
Are there remote vp finance jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and more than many senior roles, since vp finance work is largely analytical and can be performed remotely when companies allow it. About 100% of vp finance openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader flexibility at the executive finance level. FP&A and strategic planning functions tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while roles with heavy board reporting or on-site operational oversight typically require regular in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a vp finance in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a senior financial analyst or assistant controller role at a large Missouri employer such as a regional hospital system, an insurance company, or a Kansas City-area corporate headquarters, then building toward director-level responsibility. Missouri employers including SSM Health and large St. Louis-based manufacturers run internal finance development programs that promote from within. Earning a CPA through the Missouri State Board of Accountancy significantly strengthens candidacy for anyone making the transition from individual contributor to finance leadership.
Where can I find and apply to vp finance jobs in Missouri?
