Corporate Accounting Manager Jobs in Missouri: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a corporate accounting manager in Missouri?
Most corporate accounting managers in Missouri hold a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance and a CPA license issued through the Missouri State Board of Accountancy, which requires passing the Uniform CPA Examination and meeting Missouri's education and experience requirements. Reciprocal licensure is available for CPAs licensed in other states. Employers typically expect several years of staff or senior accountant experience before moving into a management role, and an MBA or CMA credential strengthens candidacy for larger organizations.
Which companies hire corporate accounting managers in Missouri?
Employers hiring corporate accounting managers in Missouri right now include Acertus, IMPERIAL, and Commerce Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Missouri's mix of Fortune 500 headquarters, regional healthcare systems, and large manufacturing operations means consistent demand across both Kansas City and St. Louis metro areas.
Which Missouri cities have the most corporate accounting manager jobs?
St. Louis, Kansas City, and Cape Girardeau have the most corporate accounting manager openings in Missouri. Kansas City and St. Louis lead because they concentrate the state's largest corporate headquarters, regional banking operations, and healthcare systems, while smaller cities like Columbia benefit from anchoring employers such as the University of Missouri Health Care and regional insurance carriers that maintain dedicated finance departments.
Are there remote corporate accounting manager jobs in Missouri?
Yes, and they are more common than in many management roles, since corporate accounting managers work primarily with financial systems, reporting tools, and internal stakeholders rather than physical operations. About 50% of corporate accounting manager openings tied to Missouri are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Financial reporting, budget analysis, and consolidation work are the functions most frequently offered with remote flexibility, while roles involving hands-on audit coordination or treasury operations tend to require more in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a corporate accounting manager in Missouri with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to enter through a staff accountant or senior accountant role at a Missouri employer, build a record across the full accounting cycle, and move into a supervisory position internally. Large St. Louis and Kansas City employers in healthcare, insurance, and manufacturing regularly hire new graduates into rotational finance programs that expose candidates to multiple accounting functions. Earning the CPA license through the Missouri State Board of Accountancy is the single credential that most accelerates promotion into management, and candidates who combine it with ERP system experience are consistently preferred over those without it.
Where can I find and apply to corporate accounting manager jobs in Missouri?
You can find and apply to corporate accounting manager jobs in Missouri on Migrate Mate, which lists current Missouri openings across Kansas City, St. Louis, Columbia, and the broader state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly to the employers posting them.
