Account Director Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a account director in Arizona?
Most account director roles in Arizona require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications followed by several years of progressively senior account or client management experience. Arizona does not require a state-issued license for account directors, so the path runs through building a record of client ownership and revenue growth. Large Arizona employers in healthcare, tech, and financial services tend to promote from within senior account manager or account supervisor roles into director-level positions.
How much do account directors make in Arizona?
Account directors in Arizona earn a median of about $72,920 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $40,680 for the lowest 10% to over $130,220 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire account directors in Arizona?
Employers hiring account directors in Arizona right now include Team Velocity Marketing, DSV, and Yelp, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's concentration of financial services headquarters, regional technology firms, and large healthcare systems means demand for account directors is spread across both corporate and agency environments in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Which Arizona cities have the most account director jobs?
Phoenix, Arizona, and Tempe have the most account director openings in Arizona. Phoenix drives the majority of demand as the state's commercial center, home to large corporate headquarters in financial services and healthcare, while Scottsdale and Tempe contribute consistently through their dense clusters of marketing agencies, SaaS companies, and regional offices of national enterprises.
Are there remote account director jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than many client-facing roles, since account directors often manage relationships through calls, video meetings, and presentations rather than daily on-site work. About 100% of account director openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the role's compatibility with distributed work arrangements. Strategic account planning and executive-level client communications tend to be the functions most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a account director in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from an account manager or account supervisor role at an Arizona agency or corporate marketing team, then making a case for director-level responsibility once you own a revenue target. Phoenix-area advertising agencies and technology companies regularly post account manager openings that are designed to feed the director pipeline. Building experience with CRM tools and obtaining a certification in digital marketing or project management strengthens a candidacy considerably at that transition point.
Where can I find and apply to account director jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to account director jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings from employers actively hiring right now. Find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
