We are seeking an experienced, organized, and detail-oriented Part-Time Automotive Accounts Payable & Receivable Clerk to join our dealership office team.
This position is ideal for someone with previous automotive dealership accounting or billing experience who is looking for a part-time opportunity. The right candidate will be comfortable working with accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, data entry, and general dealership office responsibilities.
Accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities are essential for this position.
Responsibilities
- Process and post accounts payable invoices
- Verify invoices are assigned to the correct general ledger accounts
- Prepare and process vendor payments
- Maintain accurate vendor records and files
- Assist with accounts receivable and customer account postings
- Research and resolve vendor or receivable discrepancies
- Assist with bank deposits and bank entries
- Reconcile accounts and assist with month-end accounting duties
- Maintain accurate accounting schedules and supporting documentation
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to dealership management
- Perform data entry, filing, document processing, and record maintenance
- Assist with additional office and accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Previous automotive dealership accounting, billing, bookkeeping, or office experience strongly preferred
- Accounts payable and/or accounts receivable experience preferred
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Strong computer and data-entry skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook
- Experience with automotive dealership management/accounting software is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional, dependable, and able to handle confidential information
- Ability to work independently while also being a team player
- High school diploma or equivalent required; accounting or business education is a plus
Schedule
- Part-time position
- Flexible weekday schedule may be available
- Approximately 20–30 hours per week, depending on dealership needs and candidate availability
- Daytime hours preferred
Compensation
- Competitive hourly pay based on automotive dealership accounting and billing experience
