Accounts Receivable Assistant Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a accounts receivable assistant in New Jersey?
Accounts receivable assistants in New Jersey are not required to hold a state-issued license or certification. Most employers expect at least an associate degree in accounting or a related business field, though a bachelor's degree strengthens your candidacy at larger firms. Completing coursework in bookkeeping or earning a foundational credential such as the NACM Credit Business Associate designation can give candidates a competitive edge in New Jersey's finance-dense job market.
Which companies hire accounts receivable assistants in New Jersey?
Employers hiring accounts receivable assistants in New Jersey right now include Med-Metrix, VAC-U-MAX, and Swan Hospice, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's deep concentration of pharmaceutical, insurance, and healthcare organizations means ongoing demand from both large corporate shared-service centers and regional hospital billing departments.
Which New Jersey cities have the most accounts receivable assistant jobs?
The cities with the most accounts receivable assistant openings in New Jersey are Parsippany-Troy Hills, Chester, and Lakewood. Newark and Jersey City lead because of their dense clusters of financial services firms, insurance carriers, and corporate headquarters, while Princeton and Parsippany generate consistent demand from the pharmaceutical and technology companies anchored in central New Jersey's Route 1 and Route 202 corridors.
Are there remote accounts receivable assistant jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than many finance support roles. About 22% of accounts receivable assistant openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how effectively billing, collections, and reconciliation work can be done off-site. The functions most commonly offered remotely include invoice processing, customer follow-up, and aging report management, while roles requiring on-site cash handling or in-person team coordination tend to stay in the office.
How can I get hired as a accounts receivable assistant in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is landing a clerk or billing support role within a hospital system or large shared-service center, both of which are common in New Jersey. RWJBarnabas Health, Atlantic Health System, and large insurance back-office operations in Newark frequently bring on candidates from adjacent roles such as medical receptionist, customer service representative, or general office clerk. Completing a community college course in bookkeeping or earning a QuickBooks certification makes a strong impression when direct accounts receivable experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to accounts receivable assistant jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to accounts receivable assistant jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings to find roles that match your experience level, location preference, and industry background, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
