Acquisition Specialist Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a acquisition specialist in Florida?
Most acquisition specialist roles in Florida require at minimum a bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, public administration, or a closely related field. Florida does not issue a state license specifically for acquisition specialists, but candidates pursuing government or defense contracting roles benefit from earning a Certified Federal Contracts Manager credential through the National Contract Management Association, which has active chapters in Florida. State agency procurement roles may require registration through the Florida Department of Management Services vendor portal.
Which companies hire acquisition specialists in Florida?
Companies currently hiring acquisition specialists in Florida include State Farm, webuyanycar, and Kpler, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large concentration of military bases and defense contractors makes it one of the more active states for government and federal acquisition roles.
Which Florida cities have the most acquisition specialist jobs?
Tampa, Miami, and Orlando have the most acquisition specialist openings in Florida. The Tampa Bay area leads because of its dense cluster of defense contractors, MacDill Air Force Base, and regional corporate headquarters, while Jacksonville's Naval Station Mayport and financial sector employers sustain consistent demand, and Miami draws procurement professionals through its international trade and healthcare industries.
Are there remote acquisition specialist jobs in Florida?
Yes, and they are more common than in many fields because much of the work involves contract review, vendor communication, and documentation that can be done from a desk. About 50% of acquisition specialist openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, though roles tied directly to military installations or physical asset acquisition tend to require on-site presence. Analytical and contract administration functions are the most likely to offer remote flexibility.
How can I get hired as a acquisition specialist in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a contracting assistant or procurement technician role, which large Florida defense employers and state agencies use to bring in candidates without direct acquisition experience. Florida's major defense contractors such as Northrop Grumman and Leidos, as well as Florida state agencies operating through the Department of Management Services, regularly hire entry-level candidates with a business degree and exposure to spreadsheet or ERP tools. Pursuing a Certified Professional in Supply Management associate-level credential or completing an internship through a Florida university's supply chain program strengthens early applications considerably.
Where can I find and apply to acquisition specialist jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to acquisition specialist jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across industries and experience levels. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly.
