- Represent BGB Group professionally at industry conferences, exhibitions and trade events.
- Understand clients' operational requirements and identify opportunities where BGB can add value.
Tendering & Commercial Support
- Support the preparation of tenders, proposals and commercial submissions.
- Work collaboratively with Estimating, Pre-Construction and Operations teams to develop competitive pricing and delivery strategies.
- Support commercial negotiations through to contract award.
- Ensure opportunities pursued align with operational capability and business strategy.
Strategic Growth
- Focus on long-term maintenance, brownfield, shutdown and turnaround opportunities within offshore wind.
- Support business planning and growth forecasting activities.
- Provide market intelligence to help shape future business strategy.
- Ensure smooth handover of secured projects to operational delivery teams.
Collaboration & Reporting
- Work closely with internal stakeholders across Pre-Construction, Operations and Senior Leadership.
- Participate in bid reviews, pipeline reviews and business planning meetings.

You'll ideally have:
Essential
- Proven experience in Business Development, Sales or Commercial Management.
- Experience working within Offshore Wind, Renewable Energy, Marine, Construction or Industrial Services.
- Strong understanding of business development, sales pipeline management and tendering processes.

Business Development Manager Jobs in Rhode Island: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development manager in Rhode Island?
Most business development manager roles in Rhode Island require a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field, followed by several years of sales or account management experience. Rhode Island does not require a state-issued license for this role. Employers in Providence-area financial services and healthcare technology firms typically prefer candidates who have worked in a structured sales environment and can demonstrate a history of growing accounts or opening new markets.
Which companies hire business development managers in Rhode Island?
Employers hiring business development managers in Rhode Island right now include Allied Universal, Ryder System, and ECAM, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Rhode Island's concentration of insurance carriers, defense contractors, and regional healthcare systems means demand is consistent even outside traditional sales-heavy industries.
Which Rhode Island cities have the most business development manager jobs?
Providence, Cranston, and Rhode Island have the most business development manager openings in Rhode Island. Providence drives the largest share of postings as the state's commercial and healthcare hub, while Warwick and East Providence attract openings tied to insurance headquarters and defense-sector contractors that maintain significant operations just outside the capital.
Are there remote business development manager jobs in Rhode Island?
Yes, and more than many fields, since business development work is largely relationship-driven and phone- or video-based rather than requiring a fixed on-site presence. About 50% of business development manager openings tied to Rhode Island are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how common distributed sales teams have become. Strategic partnership and enterprise account roles tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while market-facing roles tied to local Rhode Island clients often require regular in-person meetings.
How can I get hired as a business development manager in Rhode Island with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a business development representative or inside sales role at a Rhode Island employer, then building toward a manager title. Amica Mutual, Textron's commercial divisions, and regional healthcare technology firms in the Providence area regularly hire candidates from adjacent roles like account coordinator, marketing associate, or client services representative. A demonstrated record of quota attainment in any sales-adjacent position, combined with a business or marketing degree, strengthens applications significantly even without a formal business development title.
Where can I find and apply to business development manager jobs in Rhode Island?
You can find and apply to business development manager jobs in Rhode Island on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers active in the state. Search the listings, find roles that match your experience and target industries, and apply directly to the ones that fit.
