Business Development Manager Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development manager in Pennsylvania?
Business development managers in Pennsylvania do not require a state-issued license or certification, so the path runs through education and experience. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline. Candidates typically build toward the role through account executive, sales representative, or marketing coordinator positions at Pennsylvania companies, then advance by demonstrating consistent revenue growth, client retention, and the ability to open new markets.
Which companies hire business development managers in Pennsylvania?
Employers hiring business development managers in Pennsylvania right now include Skilled Wound Care, J&J Gaming, and Preston Toyota, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's concentration of large health systems, financial institutions, and technology firms means demand is spread across industries rather than tied to a single sector.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most business development manager jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Pennsylvania have the most business development manager openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia anchors demand through its dense base of financial services, healthcare, and media companies, while Pittsburgh draws from its growing technology and advanced manufacturing employers, and suburban corridors like King of Prussia and Wayne attract regional and national corporate headquarters that consistently hire for growth-focused roles.
Are there remote business development manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than many fields, because business development work centers on communication, strategy, and relationship management rather than physical presence. About 57% of business development manager openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely distributed the role has become since many companies decentralized their sales and growth teams. Client-facing account management and market expansion responsibilities are the functions most commonly performed remotely.
How can I get hired as a business development manager in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales development representative or account coordinator role at a Pennsylvania company, which builds the pipeline management and client communication skills employers look for. Large Philadelphia-area employers in healthcare and financial services, as well as Pittsburgh technology firms, regularly hire for associate business development and inside sales positions that feed into manager tracks. Earning a Salesforce certification or completing a structured sales development program strengthens a candidacy considerably when formal experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to business development manager jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to business development manager jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings tied to the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and target industry, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
