Sales Agent Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales agent in Pennsylvania?
The path depends on the type of sales. For insurance sales, you must pass the Pennsylvania state licensing exam administered through the Pennsylvania Insurance Department and complete the required pre-licensing education before applying for a producer license. For real estate sales, licensure through the Pennsylvania State Real Estate Commission is required. For general B2B or retail sales roles, no state license applies, and most Pennsylvania employers look for a bachelor's degree and demonstrated sales experience or a strong internship record.
Which companies hire sales agents in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania sales agent roles are posted by Humana, The Robin Gordon, and Tom Toole Sales Group at RE/MAX Main Line and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Pennsylvania's dense concentration of insurance carriers, health systems, and technology firms means steady, year-round demand for sales talent across both large enterprises and regional mid-market companies.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most sales agent jobs?
Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, and West Chester have the most sales agent openings in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia anchors the market through its large insurance carriers, healthcare networks, and corporate headquarters, while Pittsburgh draws demand from financial services and technology firms, and Allentown reflects the Lehigh Valley's growing logistics and healthcare employer base that continually needs local sales coverage.
Are there remote sales agent jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, and more than most fields, since inside sales and SaaS account management translate well to remote work. About 40% of sales agent openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting strong adoption among software and financial services employers. Roles that require in-person client visits, territory management, or real estate showings remain largely on-site or hybrid.
How can I get hired as a sales agent in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is an inside sales representative or sales development representative role, which large Pennsylvania employers in insurance, software, and financial services use to bring in candidates without a full sales history. Independence Blue Cross, Comcast, and regional insurance agencies across Philadelphia and Pittsburgh regularly hire for associate-level sales positions that pair new hires with senior agents. Completing pre-licensing coursework through the Pennsylvania Insurance Department, even before you are hired, signals commitment and gives you an edge over equally inexperienced candidates.
Where can I find and apply to sales agent jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to sales agent jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings across industries and experience levels. Search the available roles, find ones that match your background and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
