Business Development Manager Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development manager in Florida?
Business development manager roles in Florida do not require a state-issued license, but most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field alongside several years of B2B sales or account management experience. Florida's competitive markets in technology, healthcare services, and commercial real estate mean employers often prioritize candidates who have sold into those specific verticals. Earning a Certified Business Development Professional designation can strengthen an application.
Which companies hire business development managers in Florida?
Employers hiring business development managers in Florida right now include Evolutionary Healthcare, DESORT STAFFING, and American Heart Association, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's dense concentration of technology firms in Tampa, financial services companies in Miami, and healthcare networks statewide means hiring is spread across several major industries rather than dominated by a single sector.
Which Florida cities have the most business development manager jobs?
Tampa, Orlando, and Miami account for the most business development manager openings in Florida. Miami leads because of its dense financial services, international trade, and technology sectors, while Tampa's growing SaaS and healthcare corridor drives significant hiring, and Orlando's convention economy and hospitality-adjacent businesses create steady demand for growth-focused roles.
Are there remote business development manager jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business development work is relationship- and communication-driven rather than tied to a physical facility. About 61% of business development manager openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting broader flexibility in the role. The portions of the job most likely to stay fully remote are prospecting, proposal writing, and virtual client presentations.
How can I get hired as a business development manager in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting as a business development representative or inside sales associate, then moving into a manager role after building a record of closed deals. Large Florida-based employers such as Roper Technologies and AdventHealth run structured associate or rotational programs that place candidates into growth-track positions. A lateral move from account management, marketing coordination, or customer success is also common. Completing a Salesforce administrator certification or earning a digital marketing credential gives early-career candidates a concrete edge in Florida interviews.
Where can I find and apply to business development manager jobs in Florida?
