Business Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business manager in Massachusetts?
Most business manager roles in Massachusetts require at least a bachelor's degree in business administration, management, finance, or a related field. Massachusetts does not issue a state license specifically for the business manager title, so hiring decisions are credential- and experience-driven. Earning an MBA, a Project Management Professional credential, or a Certified Manager designation strengthens candidacy. Many Massachusetts employers in healthcare and financial services also value sector-specific certifications aligned to their regulatory environment.
Which companies hire business managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring business managers in Massachusetts right now include Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Allied Universal, and Thermo Fisher Scientific, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Massachusetts's concentration of large healthcare systems, asset management firms, defense contractors, and research universities means business manager demand is distributed across multiple established industry sectors rather than clustered in a single one.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most business manager jobs?
Boston, Cambridge, and Massachusetts account for the most business manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge lead because of their density of financial services headquarters, hospital systems, and biotech campuses, while Worcester draws openings from healthcare and manufacturing employers anchored in central Massachusetts, spreading demand beyond the immediate Greater Boston area.
Are there remote business manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, though they are less common than for purely analytical or technical roles, since business managers are frequently expected to oversee on-site staff, vendor relationships, and day-to-day operations. About 66% of business manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with remote-eligible postings most often covering financial planning, reporting, and project oversight functions that rely on digital tools rather than in-person presence.
How can I get hired as a business manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for operations coordinator, administrative manager, or business analyst roles at large Massachusetts employers, then moving into a manager title after demonstrating results. Healthcare systems such as Mass General Brigham and educational institutions like UMass run structured leadership development and rotational programs that accept candidates without prior management experience. Building toward a Certified Manager credential or completing a part-time MBA at a Massachusetts institution such as UMass Amherst or Northeastern strengthens applications significantly at this stage.
Where can I find and apply to business manager jobs in Massachusetts?
You can find and apply to business manager jobs in Massachusetts on Migrate Mate, which lists current Massachusetts openings from employers actively hiring for the role. Find the roles that fit your experience and location preference and apply directly to each one.
