Commercial Specialist Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a commercial specialist in Utah?
Most commercial specialist roles in Utah require a bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, finance, or a related discipline, and the role carries no state-issued license specific to Utah. Employers on the Wasatch Front consistently expect candidates to hold relevant education and hands-on experience in contract administration, sales operations, or procurement. Earning a Certified Commercial Contracts Manager credential through NCMA can strengthen a candidacy, particularly for roles tied to defense or government contracting work common in the Salt Lake and Utah County markets.
Which companies hire commercial specialists in Utah?
Companies currently hiring commercial specialists in Utah include AutoZone, CELTIC BANK, and Safari Micro, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's mix of large technology firms, defense contractors, and regional healthcare systems means commercial specialists find openings across a range of industries and contract types.
Which Utah cities have the most commercial specialist jobs?
Salt Lake City, Sandy, and Farmington account for the largest concentration of commercial specialist openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors the market as the state's primary business hub, while Provo and Orem benefit from the dense technology and SaaS company presence along the Silicon Slopes corridor, and secondary markets reflect the headquarters and regional offices of defense, energy, and healthcare employers established throughout the state.
Are there remote commercial specialist jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than many field-based roles, since commercial specialist work centers on analysis, contract review, and client communication that translate well to remote settings. About 100% of commercial specialist openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the technology-heavy employer base along the Wasatch Front. Roles focused on pricing analysis, contract administration, and inside commercial sales tend to offer the most flexibility, while positions requiring on-site client engagement or government facility access remain predominantly in person.
How can I get hired as a commercial specialist in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a sales operations coordinator, contracts administrator, or procurement assistant role, which large Utah employers such as Intermountain Health, Adobe, and defense contractors in the Salt Lake corridor regularly post as associate-level openings. Completing a business or marketing degree at the University of Utah or Brigham Young University, combined with a summer internship in a commercial or operations team, positions new graduates well. Building proficiency in Salesforce and earning a foundational contract management certificate through NCMA adds measurable credibility for candidates without direct commercial specialist experience.
Where can I find and apply to commercial specialist jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to commercial specialist jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings updated regularly. Search the listings to see roles that match your experience and location, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
