Business Development Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development manager in Utah?
Most business development manager roles in Utah require a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a closely related field, and Utah has no state-issued license specific to the role. The typical path runs through inside sales or account management at one of Utah's technology or financial services firms, building toward a management title. Employers along the Wasatch Front frequently promote internally, so starting as a business development representative at a Salt Lake City or Provo company is a reliable entry route.
Which companies hire business development managers in Utah?
Companies currently hiring business development managers in Utah include IQVIA, BambooHR, and SPS, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's high concentration of technology and financial services headquarters along the Wasatch Front means business development roles turn over regularly across both established enterprises and growth-stage companies.
Which Utah cities have the most business development manager jobs?
Salt Lake City, Draper, and Orem have the most business development manager openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors the market as the state's commercial center, home to large financial, healthcare, and technology employers, while Provo benefits from the dense cluster of software and SaaS companies in Silicon Slopes, and any additional metros on that list reflect spillover hiring from regional offices and distribution operations.
Are there remote business development manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 67% of business development manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the role relies on digital communication tools rather than on-site presence. Strategy, pipeline management, and outreach work are most commonly done remotely, while roles that require in-person client entertaining or territory management tend to stay hybrid or fully on-site.
How can I get hired as a business development manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a business development representative or inside sales role at one of Utah's technology companies, particularly those headquartered in the Silicon Slopes corridor between Salt Lake City and Provo. Companies like Qualtrics and Pluralsight run structured sales development programs that build toward a full business development manager title. A bachelor's degree in business or marketing, familiarity with CRM software, and any direct client-facing experience in account management, recruiting, or retail leadership all strengthen a candidacy for these entry-level programs.
Where can I find and apply to business development manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to business development manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the roles that fit your experience level and industry background, then apply directly to the ones that match. The listings are updated regularly, so checking back as new positions are posted gives you access to openings as they become available.
