Sales Manager Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a sales manager in Utah?
Most sales managers in Utah move into the role after several years in individual contributor sales, typically in technology, financial services, or consumer goods. Utah does not require a state-issued license for general sales management, but roles selling securities or insurance require licensing through the Utah Department of Insurance or FINRA. Employers generally look for a bachelor's degree and a clear record of quota achievement before promoting someone into a management seat.
How much do sales managers make in Utah?
Sales managers in Utah earn a median of about $136,520 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $72,800 for the lowest 10% to over $253,390 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire sales managers in Utah?
Companies currently hiring sales managers in Utah include AutoZone, Beaches Tanning and Spa, and Bath Concepts Independent Dealers, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's concentration of technology headquarters and financial services firms in the Salt Lake Valley means openings appear regularly at both established enterprises and fast-growing startups.
Which Utah cities have the most sales manager jobs?
Salt Lake City, South Jordan, and Lehi have the most sales manager openings in Utah. Salt Lake City drives the largest share because of its density of technology companies, corporate headquarters, and financial services firms, while Provo and Ogden attract openings tied to the Utah Valley's software and consumer goods employers and the logistics and manufacturing operations anchoring the northern Wasatch Front.
Are there remote sales manager jobs in Utah?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely analytical roles because sales managers typically need to coach teams in person and attend client meetings. About 29% of sales manager openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with hybrid schedules more prevalent than fully remote arrangements. The positions most likely to allow remote work are those overseeing inside sales teams or managing accounts in the SaaS and financial services sectors.
How can I get hired as a sales manager in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build a strong individual sales record first, then pursue an internal promotion at a Utah technology or financial services employer. Companies such as Vivint and Qualtrics regularly advance high-performing sales representatives into team lead or associate manager roles before a full management title. Earning a FINRA Series license or completing a sales leadership certificate adds credibility for candidates without a long tenure, and lateral moves from account executive or senior territory representative roles are common stepping stones across Utah's tech corridor.
Where can I find and apply to sales manager jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to sales manager jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employer through the listing.
