Business Development Representative Jobs in Utah: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business development representative in Utah?
Most Utah employers hire business development representatives with a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or marketing, though some prioritize demonstrated sales aptitude over formal education. Utah does not require a state-issued license for this role. Many candidates start by completing employer-run sales development training programs or by moving from customer success or inside sales roles at Utah-based SaaS and technology companies concentrated along the Wasatch Front.
How much do business development representatives make in Utah?
Business development representatives in Utah earn a median of about $62,580 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $35,930 for the lowest 10% to over $131,030 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire business development representatives in Utah?
Companies currently hiring business development representatives in Utah include Retool, VASION, and SV Academy, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Utah's dense concentration of SaaS, fintech, and healthcare technology companies along the Silicon Slopes corridor keeps demand for business development representatives consistently active.
Which Utah cities have the most business development representative jobs?
Salt Lake City, Lehi, and Orem post the most business development representative openings in Utah. Salt Lake City anchors the market as the state's commercial hub, while Lehi and Provo benefit from the Silicon Slopes tech cluster, where companies like Adobe, Qualtrics, and dozens of high-growth SaaS startups maintain large inside sales and business development teams.
Are there remote business development representative jobs in Utah?
Yes, and more than most fields, since business development representative work is primarily phone and email-based and translates well to remote settings. About 58% of business development representative openings tied to Utah are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly Utah tech employers have adopted flexible work arrangements. Outbound prospecting and SDR coordination roles tend to be the most remote-friendly segments of the function.
How can I get hired as a business development representative in Utah with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying directly to sales development representative roles at Utah's Silicon Slopes tech companies, which regularly hire candidates without prior sales experience and provide structured onboarding. Employers like Qualtrics and Adobe have run new-hire cohort programs for entry-level sales talent. Moving from a customer success associate, retail sales, or account coordinator role is a common lateral path, and completing a recognized sales certificate or demonstrating strong outbound communication in an interview adds a competitive edge.
Where can I find and apply to business development representative jobs in Utah?
You can find and apply to business development representative jobs in Utah on Migrate Mate, which lists current Utah openings across industries and experience levels. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the employers posting them.
