Indiana employers, particularly in Indianapolis's technology corridor and in higher education institutions like Purdue and Indiana University, look for candidates with demonstrated experience managing online communities, a portfolio of content or campaigns, and familiarity with analytics tools. Certifications from platforms like HubSpot or Hootsuite strengthen applications.
Which companies hire community managers in Indiana?
Employers hiring community managers in Indiana right now include Optum, Asset Living, and Brookside Properties, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indiana's mix of technology firms, healthcare systems, and large universities creates consistent demand for community professionals working in both B2B and consumer-facing roles.
Which Indiana cities have the most community manager jobs?
Indianapolis, Carmel, and Lafayette have the most community manager openings in Indiana. Indianapolis drives the majority of demand as the state's corporate headquarters hub, home to major employers in technology, insurance, and healthcare, while Fort Wayne and Bloomington add openings through regional business growth and Indiana University's active communications and marketing operations.

How can I get hired as a community manager in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to start in a social media coordinator or marketing assistant role at an Indianapolis-area agency, technology company, or nonprofit, then move into community management once you have a portfolio of content and engagement results. Large Indiana employers like Indiana University, IU Health, and Salesforce's Indianapolis office run internship and new-graduate programs that serve as direct pipelines. Building a public-facing community, earning a free platform certification from HubSpot, and volunteering to manage social accounts for a local organization all strengthen an early application.
