Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nursing Jobs at Banner Health Jobs
Get your credentials evaluated before applying
Banner Health's hiring teams expect internationally trained nurses to hold a CGFNS or equivalent credential evaluation before an offer moves forward. Having this ready removes a common bottleneck and signals you're serious about starting quickly.
Target Banner's high-volume units strategically
Banner Health consistently hires for ICU, med-surg, and emergency nursing across its Arizona and Colorado hospitals. Filtering your search by these units increases your chances of landing a role where sponsorship is already part of the recruiter's workflow.
Use Migrate Mate to find Banner Health's open nursing roles
Searching broadly for sponsoring healthcare employers wastes time. Use Migrate Mate to filter directly for Banner Health nursing positions confirmed to offer visa sponsorship, so you're applying where your immigration status is already expected.
Confirm your NCLEX status is current before outreach
Banner Health requires active U.S. RN licensure for all nursing hires. If your NCLEX is pending or your license is in a state Banner doesn't operate in, resolve this before applying. Recruiters won't hold roles during a licensing delay.
Understand how Banner's H-1B timeline fits your OPT or status window
H-1B petitions filed under the regular cap have a USCIS processing window that may not align with your current work authorization end date. Ask your Banner HR contact whether premium processing is an option, which can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days.
Ask about EB-3 sponsorship during the offer negotiation stage
Banner Health sponsors nurses for permanent residence through the EB-3 pathway, which requires PERM labor certification filed with the DOL. Raise this during offer discussions, not after you've signed, so the timeline and employer commitment are clear from the start.

Find Nursing at Banner Health JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Banner Health sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Banner Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying nursing roles. Nurses must hold a valid U.S. RN license, meet the specialty occupation standard, and have a confirmed job offer in hand before the petition is filed with USCIS. Banner operates across multiple states, so sponsorship availability can vary by facility and unit. Connecting directly with a Banner Health recruiter early in the process helps clarify which positions are actively set up for sponsorship.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Banner Health?
Applications go through Banner Health's careers portal, where you can filter by role type, location, and unit. For international nurses, the strongest applications include a credential evaluation from CGFNS, proof of active U.S. RN licensure, and a resume formatted for U.S. healthcare hiring. You can also browse Banner Health's open nursing positions on Migrate Mate to identify roles where visa sponsorship is specifically confirmed before you invest time in applying.
What visa types does Banner Health commonly sponsor for nursing roles?
Banner Health sponsors nursing candidates through both H-1B nonimmigrant visas and employment-based Green Card pathways, primarily EB-2 and EB-3. The EB-3 category is the most common route for registered nurses pursuing permanent residence, as it's designed for skilled workers and professionals. The PERM labor certification process through the DOL is required before an EB-3 immigrant petition can be filed with USCIS, so expect a multi-year timeline for the Green Card pathway.
What qualifications does Banner Health expect for nursing candidates seeking sponsorship?
Banner Health expects candidates to hold an active RN license in the state where the role is based, a bachelor's degree in nursing or an internationally equivalent credential evaluated by a recognized body like CGFNS, and relevant clinical experience in the unit they're applying to. Specialty units such as ICU and emergency nursing often require additional certifications like BLS and ACLS. Meeting these credentials before applying puts you in a stronger position when sponsorship discussions begin.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process typically take at Banner Health?
From offer to work authorization, the timeline depends heavily on the visa type. An H-1B with premium processing can be adjudicated by USCIS in around 15 business days, but cap-subject petitions are only filed once per year in April and carry a lottery risk. EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL labor certification, an I-140 petition, and potentially years of waiting depending on your country of birth. Clarifying the pathway with your Banner HR contact at the offer stage helps you plan realistically.
