Align Your Degree to Celestica's Engineering Stack
Celestica's engineering roles concentrate on hardware systems, PCB design, and advanced manufacturing processes. A degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial engineering maps cleanly to their specialty occupation requirements, which matters when your employer files your H-1B or EB petition.
Target Roles That Match Your OPT Timeline
F-1 students in STEM fields get up to three years of OPT, giving you runway to contribute before Celestica needs to file an H-1B cap petition. Engineering roles in electronics manufacturing qualify for STEM OPT extension, so confirm your degree field appears on the official STEM OPT list before accepting.
Find Celestica Engineering Openings Through Migrate Mate
Celestica posts engineering roles across multiple sites, but not all listings surface their sponsorship history. Browse Celestica's open engineering positions on Migrate Mate to see roles filtered specifically for visa-sponsored candidates and avoid wasting applications on positions that won't support your status.
Ask About PERM Timing During the Offer Stage
If your goal is a Green Card, Celestica's EB-2 or EB-3 pathway requires a PERM labor certification filed with DOL before the immigrant petition. Ask your recruiter early whether the role is eligible for sponsored permanent residency, since PERM processing runs 12 to 18 months on average.
Verify Celestica's E-Verify Enrollment Before Accepting
STEM OPT authorization requires your employer to be enrolled in E-Verify. Confirm this before signing an offer letter, not after. You can check employer enrollment status directly through the E-Verify website using the employer search tool.
Prepare for Technical and Export Control Screening
Celestica operates in defense-adjacent electronics manufacturing, which means some engineering roles involve ITAR or EAR export control classifications. Non-U.S. persons may face additional clearance reviews during hiring. Clarify the role's technology classification with the recruiter before investing in a lengthy interview process.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Celestica sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Celestica has sponsored work visas for engineering roles, though H-1B visa sponsorship depends on the specific position and business need at the time of hiring. Engineering roles in hardware design, systems integration, and manufacturing process tend to meet the specialty occupation threshold USCIS requires. Confirm sponsorship availability directly with the recruiter during initial screening, before the offer stage.
Which visa types does Celestica typically use for Engineering roles?
Celestica's engineering sponsorship history includes F-1 OPT and CPT for early-career candidates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying occupations, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathways for longer-term permanent residency. The right visa depends on your citizenship, degree level, and where you are in your career. Each pathway has different employer filing obligations and timelines.
What qualifications does Celestica expect for sponsored Engineering positions?
Most engineering roles at Celestica require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as electrical, mechanical, industrial, or systems engineering. Hands-on experience with electronics manufacturing, supply chain systems, or hardware lifecycle management strengthens your candidacy. Roles supporting defense or aerospace clients may require additional screening related to export control regulations under ITAR or EAR compliance frameworks.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Celestica?
You can search for Celestica's open engineering roles on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship eligibility so you can focus on positions relevant to your status. Apply directly through Celestica's careers portal with a resume tailored to their electronics and hardware focus. Follow up with the recruiter to confirm sponsorship support for your specific visa category before advancing through interviews.
How do I plan my timeline if I want Celestica to sponsor my Green Card?
Green Card sponsorship through Celestica's EB-2 or EB-3 pathway starts with a PERM labor certification filed with DOL, which currently takes 12 to 18 months to process. After certification, Celestica files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. If your priority date is current, you can then apply to adjust status. Starting this conversation early in the offer process gives you the clearest picture of your timeline.
