Align your credentials to electrical contracting
Gaylor Electric's project development work centers on commercial and industrial electrical construction. Before applying, frame your resume around preconstruction, estimating, or business development experience in that context. A generic construction background is a harder sell than one tied to MEP or specialty contracting.
Target Gaylor's active construction markets directly
Gaylor Electric operates heavily across the Southeast and Midwest on large commercial and industrial projects. Identify which regional offices are actively bidding in those markets and tailor your outreach to those divisions, since project development hiring tends to follow pipeline volume by region.
Confirm TN eligibility before your first interview
If you're a Canadian or Mexican citizen, the TN visa is a faster path than H-1B and requires no employer petition filing with USCIS. Verify that your role and degree qualify under the TN's engineering or management categories before the offer stage, so you can propose it confidently to HR.
Prepare your degree equivalency documentation early
H-1B sponsorship for a Project Development Manager role requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved evaluator before Gaylor initiates the LCA with DOL. Delays here can push your start date back significantly.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Project Development Manager roles
Project development openings at Gaylor Electric don't always surface on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Project Development Manager positions at Gaylor Electric with visa sponsorship, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed rather than asking cold.
Negotiate your start date around H-1B cap timelines
If you need a new H-1B, USCIS only accepts cap-subject petitions in April for an October 1 start date. When you receive an offer, flag this window immediately so Gaylor's HR and legal team can plan the filing. Missing the registration period means a full year's delay.

Does Gaylor Electric sponsor H-1B visas for Project Development Managers?
Yes, Gaylor Electric has sponsored H-1B visas for project development roles. The role typically needs to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, meaning the position must require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field such as construction management, engineering, or a closely related discipline. Your employer will need to file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL before petitioning USCIS.
How do I apply for Project Development Manager jobs at Gaylor Electric?
You can find open Project Development Manager positions at Gaylor Electric through Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for roles with visa sponsorship history. When applying, tailor your materials to Gaylor's focus on commercial and industrial electrical construction. Be upfront about your visa status early in the process so their HR team can plan accordingly and involve legal counsel if needed.
Which visa types are commonly used for Project Development Manager roles at Gaylor Electric?
Gaylor Electric has sponsored H-1B visas and has also worked with F-1 OPT and CPT candidates in development and pre-construction functions. TN visas are another viable option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. The right visa depends on your citizenship, degree, and where you are in the immigration process at the time of hire.
What qualifications does Gaylor Electric expect for a Project Development Manager?
Gaylor Electric's project development roles typically require a background in electrical or mechanical contracting, preconstruction, estimating, or construction business development. A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is generally expected, particularly when visa sponsorship is involved. Familiarity with large commercial or industrial project pursuits and client relationship management is a strong differentiator.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship at Gaylor Electric?
Timeline depends heavily on which visa you need. F-1 OPT allows you to start work within your authorized period without waiting for a new petition. TN visas for Canadian citizens can be processed at the border with a job offer letter in hand. H-1B cap cases require a USCIS registration in March and an October 1 start date, so factor in at least six months of lead time when negotiating your offer with Gaylor.
