Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Project Consultant Jobs at GHD Jobs
Frame your credentials around specialty occupation standards
GHD's Project Consultant roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, or a related field. Before applying, confirm your degree title maps directly to the role's technical discipline so USCIS can clearly validate specialty occupation status.
Target GHD's infrastructure and environment practice areas
GHD staffs Project Consultants most heavily in water, transportation, and environmental services. Positioning your application toward one of those practice areas, rather than consulting broadly, aligns you with where GHD's active project pipeline and open headcount are concentrated.
Clarify sponsorship eligibility before your final interview round
GHD's recruiters handle sponsorship decisions at the offer stage, not during screening. Ask directly which visa categories the hiring team is prepared to support for the specific role and location so you're not navigating a mismatch after an offer is extended.
Understand how TN status fits GHD's consulting roles
Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering or scientific fields often qualify for TN status, which GHD can support without a PERM labor certification. Confirm your specific job title and duties align with a recognized TN profession category before the offer letter is drafted.
Plan your OPT timeline around GHD's project staffing cycles
GHD typically onboards project staff in alignment with contract start dates, which can cluster around fiscal quarters. If you're on F-1 OPT, apply early enough that your remaining authorized period comfortably covers the H-1B cap-gap window if you need to bridge to an approved petition.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Project Consultant openings by sponsorship type
GHD posts Project Consultant roles across multiple offices and practice areas at different times. Use Migrate Mate to search and filter those openings by the visa categories GHD supports, so you're only spending time on positions where your status is already a fit.

Find Project Consultant at GHD JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does GHD sponsor H-1B visas for Project Consultants?
GHD has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for technically qualified candidates in Project Consultant roles, particularly in engineering and environmental disciplines that meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Sponsorship decisions are made at the offer stage and depend on the specific role, office location, and your degree field. Confirming the practice area's current staffing needs before you reach final interviews improves your chances of a clear answer early.
How do I apply for Project Consultant jobs at GHD?
Applications for Project Consultant roles at GHD go through the company's careers portal, where openings are listed by service line and region. You can also browse and filter GHD's Project Consultant positions by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate, which makes it easier to identify roles where your immigration status is already a practical fit before you invest time in the application.
Which visa types does GHD commonly use for Project Consultant roles?
GHD supports several visa pathways for Project Consultants depending on your background and career stage. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, while the H-1B is the standard long-term work visa for specialty occupation roles. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status. GHD also sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for consultants further along in their tenure, typically after demonstrating sustained performance and project contribution.
What qualifications does GHD expect for Project Consultant positions?
GHD's Project Consultant roles are technically grounded, typically requiring a bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or mechanical engineering, or a closely related discipline. Some openings prefer candidates with relevant licensure progress, such as EIT status, or prior internship experience in infrastructure or advisory work. The degree field matters significantly for visa purposes because it needs to map directly to the role's duties to satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements.
How long does the sponsorship and onboarding process typically take at GHD?
For H-1B petitions, USCIS standard processing runs several months from filing, with premium processing available to shorten that window significantly. GHD typically initiates the sponsorship process after an offer is accepted, so your start date needs to account for both petition preparation time and adjudication. If you're transitioning from OPT, the cap-gap provision can cover you while an approved petition is pending, but aligning your OPT expiration with GHD's expected filing timeline is something to address directly with their HR team.
