Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
USCIS requires Engineering Technician roles to qualify as specialty occupations, meaning your degree must directly relate to the technical work. A degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a closely related field strengthens your H-1B petition considerably over a generalist credential.
Target Iterable's infrastructure and reliability teams
Iterable's Engineering Technician openings cluster around platform reliability and internal tooling. Filtering your search by these teams surfaces roles where sponsorship has historically been approved, rather than applying broadly across every open requisition.
Use Migrate Mate to find sponsored Engineering Technician openings
Search Migrate Mate to browse Engineering Technician roles at Iterable that are open to visa sponsorship. The platform filters by sponsoring employers, saving you from applying to postings where sponsorship was never on the table.
Ask about LCA filing before accepting an offer
Before signing, confirm your recruiter has looped in Iterable's immigration counsel. The Labor Condition Application must be certified by DOL before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition, and delays here push your start date back regardless of when you receive the offer.
Prepare documentation showing hands-on technical scope
Iterable operates at significant scale, and petition support letters need to reflect the complexity of your specific role. Gather performance reviews, project scopes, or internal documentation that demonstrates you're performing higher-level engineering work, not generalist technician tasks.
Account for the H-1B cap lottery in your job search timeline
If you're not currently in H-1B status, USCIS registration opens in March and the lottery result comes weeks later. Plan your Iterable application timeline so you have an offer in place before registration closes, not after results are announced.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Iterable sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Technicians?
Yes, Iterable sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Technician roles. The company works with immigration counsel to file Labor Condition Applications through DOL and submit H-1B petitions to USCIS. Sponsorship is most common for roles involving platform infrastructure, systems reliability, and technical tooling, so targeting those teams improves your chances of receiving a sponsorship offer.
How do I apply for Engineering Technician jobs at Iterable?
Applications go through Iterable's careers portal. When filtering for roles, look for postings that explicitly reference visa sponsorship eligibility or reach out to the recruiter early in the process to confirm. Migrate Mate also surfaces Iterable's Engineering Technician openings that are open to sponsored candidates, which saves time screening out roles where sponsorship was never offered.
Which visa types does Iterable commonly use for Engineering Technician roles?
Iterable files H-1B petitions for Engineering Technicians in nonimmigrant status and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term employees. The EB-3 category is frequently used for skilled technical roles that require a bachelor's degree. If you're on F-1 OPT, Iterable can also file an H-1B cap-subject petition during the annual registration window before your OPT expires.
What qualifications does Iterable expect for Engineering Technician roles?
Iterable typically expects a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or systems engineering for Engineering Technician positions. Hands-on experience with hardware diagnostics, infrastructure testing, or internal tooling pipelines is valued. Because USCIS scrutinizes whether the role genuinely requires a specific degree field, your application is stronger when your credentials directly align with the technical scope described in the job posting.
How do I time my Engineering Technician job search around the H-1B process?
USCIS opens H-1B registration each March for the following October 1 start date. You need an approved employer willing to register on your behalf before that window closes. Securing an offer from Iterable by February gives your employer time to prepare the registration. If you're selected in the lottery, USCIS then adjudicates the full petition, with premium processing available to accelerate the decision to roughly 15 business days.
