ABOUT THE ROLE
Iterable is leveling up. Iterable is building the next generation of customer engagement, one where AI doesn’t just assist, it acts. Our platform is evolving into an AI-native system powered by Nova, enabling teams to translate goals into intelligent, real-time customer experiences across every channel. This isn’t about layering AI onto legacy tools; it’s about re-architecting how data, decisioning, and execution come together to create adaptive, agentic journeys at scale. Ready to move beyond pipelines and build intelligence-ready data systems? We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to define how data moves, lives, and performs across Iterable. You’ll own the vision and roadmap for the full lifecycle of user and event data, from ingestion to intelligent storage to governed, high-performance access. You’ll shape the systems that power both messaging surfaces and Nova AI experiences, ensuring data is fast, reliable, and ready for real-time decisioning. Every campaign launched, every journey orchestrated, every model activated, it all depends on the foundations you build.
HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Own the end-to-end user data platform charter: define how user and event data moves from APIs and pipelines into storage, through schema and lifecycle management, and out through query surfaces used by sends, journeys, and AI features—staying focused on core user data infrastructure, not analytics UI or external integrations.
- Make ingestion and identity reliable at scale: evolve ingestion APIs and pipelines with clear SLOs, prioritization, and fair-usage limits, and drive a clear identity model so we can safely move users from anonymous to known without duplicates or data loss.
- Modernize storage, schemas, and guardrails: lead ES8 and user-store roadmaps, retention and cost work, and turn schema management into a first-class product (field removal, usage heatmaps, structural guardrails) so customers can keep only the data that matters.
- Enable Nova and product teams with better data: partner with AI/ML and application teams to define what “AI-ready” means, evolve a centralized query layer with guardrails, and own platform metrics (SLOs, incidents, ES cost, schema health, query coverage) that show the impact of your roadmap.
IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL GET TO:
- Work at the heart of Iterable’s data plane—where decisions about ingestion, storage, schema, and queries shape everything built on top of it.
- Make concrete tradeoffs between flexibility and guardrails: when to allow arbitrary payloads vs. when to insist on structure, how much history to keep online, and which queries are too risky to run.
- Partner closely with senior engineering leaders on long-horizon decisions about search/index strategy, user stores, SLOs, and cost posture.
- Spend time with customers’ data and engineering teams to understand how they actually model users and events today—and reflect that reality in a cleaner, more powerful user data platform.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of product management experience in B2B SaaS, focused on backend, platform, or data infrastructure products.
- Hands-on experience with user and event data systems—for example: ingestion pipelines, identity/alias models, event stores, or large search/document databases (e.g., Elasticsearch).
- Strong instincts around APIs and schemas: you’re comfortable reading JSON payloads, thinking through nesting vs. flattening, and managing breaking changes over time.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and data infra (Kafka/Pulsar, Redis, relational or NoSQL stores, or search engines) and the tradeoffs around performance, reliability, and cost.
- Experience collaborating with AI/ML or data science teams on the data side—feature availability, data quality, semantics—enough to know what really blocks good models and agent behavior.
- Strong analytical skills (including SQL) and a habit of using data to drive prioritization and validate impact.
- Clear, direct communication; you can explain a data or infra decision to both senior engineers and non-technical stakeholders without jargon for its own sake.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- You’ve worked on a core user-data or messaging platform where profiles, events, and identity resolution were central concepts.
- You’ve shipped guardrails or cost controls for shared infrastructure (rate limits, query limits, SLOs, or similar).
- You’ve been part of a major search/storage modernization (e.g., ES migrations, index redesigns, or retention changes).
- Background in computer science, data engineering, or a related field that lets you go deep with engineering when needed.

Align your portfolio to Iterable's product surface
Iterable's engineering work centers on event-driven messaging pipelines, workflow builders, and multi-channel delivery systems. Before applying, build or document projects that demonstrate experience with high-throughput data processing or customer-facing product features at scale.
Confirm E-Verify enrollment before your first interview
Iterable participates in E-Verify, which is a prerequisite for sponsoring H-1B transfers and new petitions. Verifying this early tells you the legal infrastructure for sponsorship is already in place, so you're not discovering a blocker after an offer is extended.
Search open Product Software Engineer roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Iterable's active Product Software Engineer openings by visa sponsorship eligibility. This saves time by surfacing only the roles where sponsorship is confirmed, so you're targeting positions that are actually accessible to international candidates.
Prepare for a specialty occupation framing early
USCIS requires H-1B roles to qualify as specialty occupations requiring a directly related bachelor's degree or higher. For a Product Software Engineer title, document how your degree field, whether computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline, maps specifically to the role's technical responsibilities.
Time your application around cap and transfer windows
If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Iterable can file a cap-exempt transfer and you can start working as soon as USCIS receives the petition. If you're cap-dependent, targeting Iterable's hiring pipeline in late 2025 gives you the best runway for an October 1 start.
Understand that EB-2 and EB-3 paths require employer-led PERM
Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 starts with a PERM labor certification filed by Iterable with the DOL, not by you. Raise your long-term sponsorship intentions during the offer negotiation stage so both sides understand the commitment before you sign.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Iterable sponsor H-1B visas for Product Software Engineers?
Yes, Iterable sponsors H-1B visas for Product Software Engineer roles. The company participates in E-Verify and has a consistent pattern of filing H-1B petitions for engineering functions. If you're already on H-1B status with another employer, Iterable can file a cap-exempt transfer petition, allowing you to start once USCIS receives the filing rather than waiting for an approval notice.
Which visa types are commonly used for Product Software Engineer roles at Iterable?
H-1B is the most common visa path for Product Software Engineers at Iterable because the role clearly qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a directly related degree in computer science, software engineering, or a comparable field. For candidates pursuing permanent residence, Iterable also sponsors Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based immigrant visa categories, which begin with a PERM labor certification filed with the DOL.
How do I apply for Product Software Engineer jobs at Iterable?
Use Migrate Mate to browse Iterable's current Product Software Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to Iterable's product stack, which is built around event-driven messaging infrastructure and multi-channel workflow automation. During the process, be direct about your visa status so the recruiting team can route your application through the appropriate sponsorship workflow from the start.
What qualifications does Iterable expect for Product Software Engineer roles?
Iterable's Product Software Engineer roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field, which also satisfies USCIS's specialty occupation requirement for H-1B purposes. Beyond credentials, Iterable looks for engineers who can work across product and infrastructure boundaries, with experience in API design, distributed systems, or customer-facing feature development being particularly relevant to their platform's architecture.
How do I understand the timeline from offer to H-1B approval at Iterable?
Once Iterable extends an offer, their legal team files a Labor Condition Application with the DOL, which typically certifies within seven business days. The H-1B petition is then filed with USCIS. Standard processing runs three to five months, while premium processing guarantees a decision within 15 business days for an additional fee. If you're transferring from another H-1B employer, you can begin working at Iterable as soon as USCIS receives the petition.
