Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Software Developer Jobs at JPMorganChase
Align your stack with JPMorganChase's core platforms
JPMorganChase builds heavily on Java, Python, and cloud infrastructure across its technology divisions. Tailor your resume and portfolio to reflect production-scale systems experience, not just academic or startup projects, before you apply.
Target roles within their global technology hubs
JPMorganChase concentrates Software Developer hiring across offices in New York, Columbus, and Houston. Applying to positions tied to these hubs increases your chances of reaching a recruiter familiar with visa-sponsored onboarding workflows.
Search verified sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Filter Software Developer openings at JPMorganChase using Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles by visa type so you only apply to positions where sponsorship is confirmed, not inferred from job description language.
Clarify your visa category early in screening
JPMorganChase sponsors multiple visa types for Software Developers, including the H-1B, E-3, and H-1B1 visa. Naming your category accurately in early recruiter conversations prevents your application from stalling in their HR triage process.
Prepare your specialty occupation evidence before the offer
USCIS requires that H-1B petitions demonstrate your role qualifies as a specialty occupation. Gather degree transcripts, a job offer letter referencing specific technical duties, and any advanced credentials before your employer's immigration counsel begins the I-129 filing.
Account for PERM timing if you want a Green Card path
JPMorganChase sponsors Green Cards through the PERM labor certification process for eligible Software Developers. DOL processing for PERM can run well over a year, so raise your long-term sponsorship goals during the offer stage, not after you've started.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does JPMorganChase sponsor H-1B visas for Software Developers?
Yes, JPMorganChase sponsors H-1B visas for Software Developers and is one of the more active financial services employers doing so. The company has established immigration support processes, so once you receive an offer, their legal team typically handles the USCIS petition filing. Confirm sponsorship availability for your specific role and location during the recruiter screening stage.
Which visa types does JPMorganChase commonly use for Software Developer roles?
JPMorganChase sponsors several nonimmigrant visa categories for Software Developers, including the H-1B, H-1B1 visa (available to Chilean and Singaporean nationals), and E-3 visa (available to Australian citizens). For permanent residence, the company supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications via the PERM labor certification process for qualifying employees.
How do I apply for Software Developer jobs at JPMorganChase?
Apply directly through JPMorganChase's careers portal, where Software Developer roles are listed by business line and location. You can also browse open positions filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which helps you identify which specific roles are actively seeking sponsored candidates before you spend time on a full application.
What qualifications does JPMorganChase expect for Software Developer roles?
Most Software Developer roles at JPMorganChase require a bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field. The company builds enterprise-scale financial systems, so experience with languages like Java or Python, cloud platforms, and production-grade codebases is expected. Roles supporting trading infrastructure or regulatory technology often require additional domain knowledge beyond general software skills.
How do I plan my timeline if JPMorganChase is sponsoring my H-1B?
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed once per year in April, with an October 1 start date if selected. If you receive an offer outside that window, your employer may explore cap-exempt options or bridge strategies depending on your current status. Build at least six to nine months of runway between your offer acceptance and your intended start date to account for registration, lottery selection, and USCIS adjudication.
