Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Engineering Jobs at Kiewit Jobs
Align your credentials to Kiewit's project types
Kiewit staffs heavily for power generation, pipeline, and heavy civil projects. Framing your resume around EPC or field engineering experience in those sectors makes your application more relevant before it ever reaches a recruiter.
Target roles in states where Kiewit is active
Kiewit operates large project offices in Texas, Nebraska, and Alberta. Applying to district or project-based engineering openings tied to active energy builds gives you a clearer path to a role with an immediate sponsorship need.
Search open Kiewit engineering roles on Migrate Mate
Migrate Mate filters Kiewit's engineering openings by visa type so you can focus on positions where sponsorship is confirmed rather than guessing which postings will support an international hire.
Confirm LCA coverage before your offer stage
Kiewit engineers are often deployed to project sites in different states than the hiring office. An H-1B Labor Condition Application must cover each work location, so confirm with your recruiter that your project assignment is included in the LCA filing before you sign.

Find Engineering at Kiewit JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Kiewit sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Kiewit sponsors H-1B visas for engineering roles across its energy, power, and industrial construction divisions. Because Kiewit operates as a project-based business, sponsorship is tied to specific district or project needs rather than a centralized hiring pool, so opportunities vary by region and active project pipeline. Targeting openings in areas where Kiewit has confirmed energy projects under construction improves your chances of finding a role with active sponsorship intent.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Kiewit?
Apply directly through Kiewit's careers portal, where postings are organized by district and project type. Tailoring your application to the specific engineering discipline and project sector listed in the job description matters more than a general submission. You can also browse Kiewit's open engineering roles filtered by visa sponsorship eligibility on Migrate Mate, which surfaces positions where international candidates are actively considered.
Which visa types does Kiewit commonly use for Engineering roles?
Kiewit sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for experienced engineers and uses F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates entering through its internship and co-op programs. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican engineers in qualifying specialty occupations. For longer-term immigration, Kiewit has supported EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process for engineers in sustained roles.
What qualifications does Kiewit look for in Engineering candidates seeking sponsorship?
Kiewit typically hires engineers with degrees in civil, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering from accredited programs. For H-1B eligibility, your degree must align directly with the engineering specialty of the posted role. Practical project experience, particularly in field or EPC environments relevant to energy and industrial construction, carries significant weight. Professional Engineer licensure is not always required at entry level but becomes more relevant for senior positions.
How does the H-1B filing timeline affect an engineering offer at Kiewit?
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration in March for an October 1 start date, meaning Kiewit must register you months before your first day of work. Candidates already on OPT or holding cap-exempt status can start sooner without waiting for the October window. Discuss your current immigration status with Kiewit's HR team early in the offer process so they can map your start date to the correct filing sequence and avoid gaps in work authorization.
