Tailor Your Resume to Clinical Software Contexts
Medpace builds systems that support FDA-regulated clinical trials, so framing your experience around data integrity, validation, or regulated software development signals you understand the environment and shortens the employer's evaluation process.
Target Roles Aligned with Your Visa Timeline
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility before applying. Medpace sponsors both CPT and OPT, but the role's start date needs to align with your authorized period, and cap-gap coverage matters if H-1B filing follows.
Verify E-Verify Enrollment Before Your Interview
STEM OPT extensions require your employer to be E-Verify enrolled. Medpace participates, but confirming this before your offer stage removes a common last-minute complication that can delay your authorization start date.
Understand How Medpace Structures H-1B Petitions
Medpace files H-1B petitions through the annual USCIS lottery. If you're in a cap-subject situation, time your application process so you have an offer confirmed well before the March registration window opens each year.
Prepare Your Credentials for PERM Documentation Early
If Medpace pursues an EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card path for you, the PERM process requires DOL-certified documentation of your qualifications. Gather foreign degree equivalency evaluations and employment records before sponsorship conversations begin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Medpace sponsor H-1B visas for Software Engineers?
Yes, Medpace sponsors H-1B visas for Software Engineer roles. The company participates in the annual USCIS H-1B cap lottery, so timing matters. You'll need a confirmed offer before the March registration window, and your role must qualify as a specialty occupation, which software engineering in a regulated clinical environment typically satisfies.
How do I apply for Software Engineer jobs at Medpace?
You can apply directly through Medpace's careers page or use Migrate Mate to browse their current Software Engineer openings filtered by visa sponsorship availability. When applying, highlight any experience with regulated software environments, clinical data systems, or compliance-driven development, since Medpace operates in FDA-regulated clinical research and those signals matter during screening.
Which visa types does Medpace commonly use for Software Engineers?
Medpace sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for Software Engineers. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent graduates, with H-1B sponsorship following for longer-term employment. The TN visa category is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying software roles.
What qualifications does Medpace expect for Software Engineer roles?
Medpace generally looks for a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field. For visa sponsorship purposes, your degree must directly relate to the role's duties. Experience with enterprise application development, validation protocols, or systems used in clinical research environments is a meaningful differentiator during hiring.
How long does the visa sponsorship process typically take at Medpace?
Timelines vary by visa type. F-1 OPT authorization can be in place within a few weeks of your offer. H-1B sponsorship follows the USCIS lottery cycle, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest if selected in March. Green Card sponsorship through PERM involves DOL processing that can take a year or more before USCIS petition filing begins.
