Align your credentials to Pure Storage's SE stack
Pure Storage Systems Engineers are expected to demonstrate hands-on depth with FlashArray, FlashBlade, and Portworx. Before applying, build verifiable experience with all-flash storage, Kubernetes environments, or VMware integration so your resume maps directly to their technical requirements.
Target roles by territory and segment
Pure Storage structures its SE teams by geographic territory and customer segment, from commercial accounts to enterprise and public sector. Filtering open roles by region helps you identify where sponsorship activity for Systems Engineers is currently concentrated and where hiring is active.
Clarify sponsorship scope before your final interview
Ask the recruiter specifically whether the role supports H-1B transfer, new cap-subject filing, or both. Pure Storage hires across all stages, but confirming this before the offer stage prevents delays if your current status requires a cap-subject petition in the April lottery window.
Use Migrate Mate to surface active Systems Engineer openings
Sponsorship-eligible SE roles at Pure Storage can open and close quickly across territories. Use Migrate Mate to filter Pure Storage listings specifically for Systems Engineer positions that match your visa type, so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is confirmed, not assumed.
Understand how OPT timing affects your start date
If you're on F-1 OPT, coordinate your target start date with Pure Storage's recruiting team early. STEM OPT extensions give you up to 36 months of work authorization, but your employer must be enrolled in E-Verify, which Pure Storage is, making STEM extension eligibility straightforward.
Prepare for PERM by documenting specialized experience early
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, DOL's PERM process requires proving your qualifications match the job's minimum requirements. Keep detailed records of your storage architecture projects, certifications, and client-facing technical work from day one to support future PERM documentation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Pure Storage sponsor H-1B visas for Systems Engineers?
Yes, Pure Storage sponsors H-1B visas for Systems Engineer roles. The company supports both cap-subject petitions filed during the annual April lottery and H-1B transfers for candidates already holding valid H-1B status with another employer. If you're mid-status, a transfer typically allows you to start without waiting for a new lottery cycle, subject to USCIS approval.
How do I apply for Systems Engineer jobs at Pure Storage?
Apply directly through Pure Storage's careers portal, or use Migrate Mate to browse verified Systems Engineer openings at Pure Storage filtered by visa sponsorship type. Before applying, confirm the role's territory alignment with your target location and that your technical background covers their storage and cloud infrastructure stack, since SE roles are evaluated on domain depth, not just general IT experience.
Which visa types does Pure Storage commonly sponsor for Systems Engineers?
Pure Storage sponsors a range of visa categories for Systems Engineers, including H-1B, F-1 OPT and CPT, TN visa for Canadian and Mexican nationals, J-1 visa, and employment-based Green Cards through the EB-2 and EB-3 preference categories. The availability of each pathway depends on your current status, the specific role, and where you are in the sponsorship timeline.
What qualifications does Pure Storage expect from Systems Engineer candidates?
Pure Storage SE roles typically require a bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or a closely related field, combined with hands-on experience in enterprise storage, networking, or cloud infrastructure. Practical exposure to Pure Storage products, competitive platforms, or container-based environments is a strong differentiator. Client-facing presales experience is valued for most territory-based SE positions.
How do I plan my visa timeline when pursuing a Systems Engineer role at Pure Storage?
Timeline depends on your current visa status. If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS opens registration each March for an October 1 start date, meaning you may need to bridge with OPT or another status for several months. If you're transferring an existing H-1B, the process can move faster, often in eight to twelve weeks with standard processing. Confirm the filing approach with Pure Storage's immigration team after receiving your offer.
