- Collaborative Mindset: Demonstrated ability to influence and align outcomes across organizational boundaries, specifically interfacing between Design Engineering, Quality, and Operations.
We are primarily an in-office environment and therefore, you will be expected to work from the Santa Clara office in compliance with Pure’s policies, unless you are on PTO, or work travel, or other approved leave.

Align your resume to Pure Storage's engineering stack
Pure Storage's Development Manager roles consistently require experience leading teams building distributed systems or storage infrastructure. Frame your resume around technical leadership in those domains, not generic people management, to pass initial screening for sponsored positions.
Target open roles before your OPT clock runs out
F-1 OPT gives you up to 12 months of authorized work, with a 60-day grace period after it ends. Apply to Pure Storage's open Development Manager postings at least three to four months before your OPT expires so there's time to file an H-1B transfer or cap-exempt petition.
Confirm sponsorship intent on your first recruiter call
Pure Storage's recruiters handle sponsorship inquiries differently across roles. Ask directly whether the specific Development Manager position you're interviewing for includes H-1B or Green Card sponsorship before you invest time in technical rounds.
Prepare a PERM-ready employment record early
If you're targeting permanent residency through an EB-2 or EB-3 petition, DOL's PERM audit process requires documented prior employment and education records. Gather transcripts, performance reviews, and official job descriptions from past roles before your employer initiates the labor certification.
Use Migrate Mate to track Pure Storage Development Manager openings
New positions at technology companies often fill before they're widely circulated. Use Migrate Mate to filter Development Manager roles at Pure Storage by visa type so you're applying to postings that explicitly support your immigration category, not ones where sponsorship is ambiguous.
Understand how TN status applies to this role
Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN status in a computer systems analyst or engineer category depending on how Pure Storage classifies the Development Manager position. Verify the job title maps to an approved TN occupation before your offer letter is finalized, since misclassification delays entry.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Pure Storage sponsor H-1B visas for Development Managers?
Yes, Pure Storage sponsors H-1B visas for Development Manager roles. The company has a documented track record of H-1B filings for technical and engineering leadership positions. If you're already on an H-1B with another employer, Pure Storage can initiate a transfer petition, which lets you start work as soon as USCIS receives the filing rather than waiting for approval.
How do I apply for Development Manager jobs at Pure Storage?
Apply directly through Pure Storage's careers portal or use Migrate Mate to filter Development Manager openings by visa type. Before applying, confirm the role aligns with your background in engineering leadership, ideally in storage, cloud infrastructure, or distributed systems. Mention your visa status early in the recruiter screen so sponsorship eligibility gets confirmed before the technical interview stages.
Which visa types does Pure Storage commonly sponsor for Development Managers?
Pure Storage sponsors H-1B, TN visa, J-1 visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT for Development Manager roles, and supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions for longer-term employees. H-1B is the most common pathway for full-time hires. TN visa is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals if the role maps to a qualifying occupation category under USMCA.
What qualifications does Pure Storage expect for a sponsored Development Manager role?
Pure Storage typically looks for Development Managers with a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, combined with hands-on experience leading software or systems engineering teams. For H-1B eligibility, the role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which means the degree requirement must be directly tied to the position's core duties.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Development Manager at Pure Storage?
For an H-1B transfer, USCIS typically processes standard filings in three to six months, though premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days. Green Card timelines through PERM are longer, often 18 months or more from the labor certification stage through I-140 approval and visa availability, depending on your country of chargeability and the employment-based preference category.
