Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Clinical Assistant Professor Jobs at University of Florida Jobs
Tailor credentials to UF's clinical faculty standards
UF Clinical Assistant Professor postings in health sciences typically require terminal degrees plus active licensure or clinical certification. Verify your foreign credentials are evaluated by a NACES-approved service before applying, since UF hiring committees rely on these assessments during initial screening.
Target UF's health science college hiring cycles
UF's colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry post Clinical Assistant Professor openings on rolling cycles tied to departmental budgets. Monitoring UF Careers directly in late summer and early spring gives you the earliest access to postings before external aggregators pick them up.
Browse open UF clinical roles using Migrate Mate
Filter by University of Florida on Migrate Mate to surface Clinical Assistant Professor openings that actively support visa sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to manually cross-referencing job boards with DOL disclosure data to confirm sponsorship willingness.
Clarify your visa category with HR before accepting
UF sponsors multiple visa types including H-1B, J-1, TN, and E-3, and the category offered can affect your long-term green card pathway. During the offer stage, ask UF's International Center specifically whether the role is structured for cap-subject H-1B or a cap-exempt petition, since universities qualify for cap-exempt filing year-round.
Start the PERM process conversation early for EB-2
If your goal is a Green Card through the EB-2 category, confirm during negotiations whether UF initiates PERM labor certification for clinical faculty. PERM advertising requirements under DOL rules take a minimum of 60 days before the application can be filed, so early alignment matters.
Align your OPT or CPT timeline with UF's hiring process
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT expiration date against UF's typical onboarding timeline, which can run eight to twelve weeks after an offer. A STEM OPT extension of 24 months may provide the bridge you need if your H-1B petition is still pending.

Find Clinical Assistant Professor at University of Florida JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does University of Florida sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Assistant Professors?
Yes. University of Florida sponsors H-1B visas for Clinical Assistant Professor roles, and as a university it qualifies as a cap-exempt employer under USCIS rules. This means UF can file H-1B petitions at any time of year without waiting for the annual April lottery, which is a meaningful advantage for candidates who need stable, predictable timelines to start or continue working.
Which visa types does University of Florida commonly use for Clinical Assistant Professor roles?
UF sponsors H-1B, J-1, TN, E-3, and EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visas for Clinical Assistant Professor positions depending on the candidate's nationality and career goals. J-1 is common for shorter clinical faculty appointments, while H-1B and EB-2 are the primary pathway for those seeking long-term or permanent employment. F-1 OPT and CPT candidates in relevant health science doctoral programs may also be eligible for certain appointments.
How do I apply for Clinical Assistant Professor jobs at University of Florida?
Applications go through UF's official careers portal at jobs.ufl.edu, where Clinical Assistant Professor postings list required materials including a CV, cover letter, and evidence of licensure or clinical credentials. You can also browse UF Clinical Assistant Professor roles that support visa sponsorship on Migrate Mate, which surfaces verified opportunities without requiring you to manually verify each employer's sponsorship history before applying.
What qualifications does University of Florida expect for Clinical Assistant Professor candidates?
Most UF Clinical Assistant Professor postings require a terminal degree in a relevant clinical field, such as an MD, PharmD, DDS, or equivalent, along with active or pending licensure in Florida. Research productivity and prior clinical teaching experience strengthen your application significantly. For candidates with international degrees, UF typically requires credential evaluation through a recognized equivalency service before the hiring committee advances your file.
How do I plan my timeline when pursuing a Clinical Assistant Professor offer at University of Florida?
Account for UF's onboarding process, which commonly runs eight to twelve weeks from offer acceptance, plus the time UF's International Center needs to prepare your visa petition. For H-1B, UF files as a cap-exempt institution so there's no lottery wait, but USCIS standard processing can take three to five months. If your current status is expiring, discuss premium processing eligibility with UF's International Center early in the offer stage.
