Align Your PE Licensure With WSP's Markets
WSP's civil project management roles frequently require or prefer a Professional Engineer license, particularly for client-facing infrastructure work. If you're pre-licensure, confirm which state exams align with WSP's active project geographies before applying.
Target WSP's Infrastructure Practice Areas Directly
WSP structures hiring around practice groups like transportation, water, and environmental. Applying to a specific practice area rather than a generic civil posting improves your odds of landing with a team that has an established sponsorship workflow for project managers.
Request LCA Transparency Before Accepting an Offer
Before signing, ask your WSP recruiter which DOL wage level the Labor Condition Application will reflect. Civil Project Manager roles can span wage levels depending on seniority, and a lower-than-expected level can affect your H-1B petition's credibility.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Open WSP Roles by Visa Type
Not every Civil Project Manager posting at WSP is tied to active sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to identify which open WSP roles are linked to the specific visa categories you need, so you're targeting positions with real sponsorship intent.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation File for Your Role
USCIS scrutinizes consulting firm H-1B petitions closely. Gather documentation showing your civil PM role requires a specific bachelor's degree, such as civil engineering or construction management, not just any four-year degree, before your employer files the I-129.

Find Civil Project Manager at WSP JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does WSP sponsor H-1B visas for Civil Project Managers?
Yes, WSP sponsors H-1B visas for Civil Project Manager roles. As a large engineering and consulting firm, WSP has an established immigration process and works with legal counsel to handle H-1B filings. Cap-subject applicants need to register in March for an October 1 start date, so offer timing matters. Confirm sponsorship intent with your recruiter early in the process.
How do I apply for Civil Project Manager jobs at WSP?
Applications go through WSP's careers portal. Search by practice area, such as transportation or water, rather than just job title to find the most relevant postings. Tailor your resume to highlight infrastructure project delivery, client management, and any PE licensure. You can also browse Civil Project Manager openings at WSP filtered by visa type on Migrate Mate before applying directly.
Which visa types does WSP commonly use for Civil Project Manager roles?
WSP sponsors across several visa categories for this role, including H-1B for most international hires, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying engineering credentials, and F-1 OPT and CPT for students completing civil or construction management degrees. Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 PERM is also available for longer-tenured employees.
What qualifications does WSP expect for a sponsored Civil Project Manager?
WSP typically looks for a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a closely related field, which also satisfies the specialty occupation requirement for H-1B purposes. Several years of project delivery experience in infrastructure or consulting is standard. A Professional Engineer license is often preferred and sometimes required for roles involving client certification sign-offs or regulatory submissions.
How do I time my job search if I need visa sponsorship for a WSP role?
If you're on F-1 OPT, start your search at least three to four months before your OPT expires to allow time for offer, onboarding, and H-1B registration. For cap-subject H-1B cases, WSP must register you before the March deadline for an October 1 start. E-3 and TN petitions move faster and aren't cap-bound, giving you more flexibility if you qualify.
