Summary: The Executive Assistant provides executive, administrative, and overall support to the President, CEO of UNC Health Nash and the Executive Vice President, COO. This role is a highly visible representative of the organization, serving as the point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on matters pertaining to the hospital and administrative suite. The Executive Assistant will handle confidential and sensitive information for his/her leaders and serve as a liaison to employees, medical staff, Board of Commissioners, and community members.
Responsibilities:

Courteously screens and determines priority of calls, making every effort to contact person being called in urgent situations, and ensuring that calls of minor importance are held for later response when the person being called is involved in more important matters. Ensures prompt delivery of telephone messages, to include name of caller, telephone number, time and date of call, message and disposition.

Competently handles routine and simple requests without advice or assistance. Competently manages incoming calls on multi-line telephone system, to include utilizing features to hold or transfer calls.

Creates documents in the proper format in accordance with written draft, notes taken in shorthand, oral dictation, verbal instructions or procedure, without errors in content, spelling or grammar, and within the designated time frames.

Organizes President/CEO and COO calendars and schedules allowing work to be performed in an efficient manner with the ability to prioritize and appropriately review content to facilitate informed decision-making.

Maintains an accurate, comprehensive, up-to-the-minute calendar of events for the President of UNC Nash noting deadlines, appointments, meetings and significant dates, and issuing timely reminders in advance. Considers coinciding commitments, personal preferences, preparation time needed, workflow considerations and other issues when scheduling on behalf of others.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s in communication or related field
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
- Certified Administrative Professional is highly desired.
Professional Experience Requirements:
- 3 years General - Executive Secretary/Administrative Assistant providing administrative support to an executive.
