Finance Manager Jobs in New Jersey: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a finance manager in New Jersey?
Most finance manager roles in New Jersey require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration, followed by several years of progressive experience in financial analysis or accounting. While New Jersey does not mandate a state-issued license for this role, many employers in the pharmaceutical, financial services, and insurance sectors prefer or require a CPA credential issued through the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy or a CFA designation.
Which companies hire finance managers in New Jersey?
New Jersey finance manager roles are posted by Campbell's, JPMorganChase, and Ciocca Automotive and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. New Jersey's dense concentration of pharmaceutical, insurance, and financial services headquarters makes it one of the most consistent states for corporate finance hiring across industries.
Which New Jersey cities have the most finance manager jobs?
Jersey City, Camden, and Hoboken have the most finance manager openings in New Jersey. Newark and Jersey City anchor demand through their financial services and banking sectors, while Princeton draws heavily from pharmaceutical and biotech headquarters concentrated along the Route 1 corridor, making the distribution a reflection of where corporate back-office and treasury functions are based.
Are there remote finance manager jobs in New Jersey?
Yes, and more than many comparable management roles, since finance manager work is largely analytical and systems-based. About 73% of finance manager openings tied to New Jersey are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based nature of the role. FP&A and corporate reporting functions tend to offer the most remote flexibility, while roles tied to on-site operations or plant accounting typically require in-office presence.
How can I get hired as a finance manager in New Jersey with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving up from a financial analyst or senior analyst role, which large New Jersey employers like Prudential Financial, BD, and ADP actively staff and promote internally. Pursuing a CPA through the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy accelerates that progression. Entry-level candidates often break in through rotational finance programs at pharmaceutical companies along the Route 1 corridor, where structured development tracks are common for recent graduates.
Where can I find and apply to finance manager jobs in New Jersey?
You can find and apply to finance manager jobs in New Jersey on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that fit your experience and apply directly.
